Seraphine’s breath caught in her throat as she met Bishop’s eyes, pale as a first winter’s frost. The look he was giving her was intoxicating in its intensity, his gratitude sincere. But there was the hint of something more to the low quality of his voice, should she want it, and this is what caused her heartbeat to quicken as he grasped her slender fingers in his strong grip. The handshake lingered a few seconds longer than the typical gesture of agreement between business partners, and Seraphine couldn’t help but notice that, despite his somewhat worn appearance, he smelled nice - an unknown scent that reminded her of sandalwood and clove (not unlike the cigars her father had favored back in Kalos).[break][break]
”You’re welcome,” she ansered, voice breathy and soft. ”I look forward to your start date. I can think of several things I’d like you to do for me already.” She left the statement vague and flirtatious on purpose, a coy smile spreading across her lips. But then the moment passed, and he let go of her hand, turning to make his way out through the door of her private studio. As he departed, a part of her regretted that their appointment had come to an end so soon. He’ll be back in seven days, she reminded herself, oddly comforted by the knowledge - and not just because she had work for him to do.[break][break]
”That man is trouble,” she murmured warmly to Bijou, still smiling. The Persian merely yawned neutrally.
