It wasn't the first time that Karissa had been to Shoal Cave, but it was certainly the first time she had come here with a clear goal in mind. There were a few species of pokémon that caught her eye last time she had been here, and today she was determined to walk away with at least one of them. The anticipation and excitement was enough to get her up at the crack of dawn, and she had made the journey here from Mossdeep City shortly after eating breakfast.

Her companion stayed close by her side, matching Karissa's pace, yet letting Karissa always be a step or two ahead. Every so often she felt something gently push into her hand, and she would gently pet the Alolan Ninetales's head absentmindedly in response. "I know, Snow, I know. It's too early." She laughed softly to herself and shook her head. "You can take a nap when we're done, I promise."

She kept her eyes peeled for any signs of movement while she made her way deeper into the cave, still petting her companion's head as they carried on. "It would go a lot quicker if you helped me look, though."

It was enough to persuade Snow to contribute to the search effort, and soon enough her companion darted off ahead. "Don't go too far ahead! I still need to be there when you find something!"
