The young teen swung her head back to look up at the stars up ahead, raising a hand to see what picturesque constellations she could see through her fingers. Before letting out another agitated sigh --It has always been like this. Most look forward to their birthdays, it's a day where you can treat yourself special, a time where people are excited you were brought into this world, a day where your family makes you feel the most loved. At least that's what Guinevere always wished her birthdays were like, to her they were days filled with regret bubbling over into an awkward play. [break][break]
Her father doing his best to ignore the fact she was a by-product of an affair, only to bubble over in quick bursts of anger.
Her mothered smothered in so much guilt she overcompensates with this fake joyous personality.
And then the only person who seemed to show genuine love eventually left for his own life.
Those uncomfortable days only got worse after she began high school too, especially after--[break][break]

With a snort, she'd throw her hand back down, taking note of an abandoned spray can from the corner of her vision, and make a beeline to it.[break]

Without an ounce of hesitation, she did her best to boot the can as far and hard as she could, both simultaneously envisioning the can as someone's face and an imaginary goal at the end of its course. The momentary surge of adrenaline caused by her rage soon dissipated, leaving her feeling even more empty and restless than she started. Desperately she swept the area around her to find something else to do before finally giving in, dropping down in an exasperated sit against one of the storage units.[break]
Perhaps she was getting tired?[break]

That much was apparent from the way she desperately tried to cause more and more chaos in her life every day. She did her best to swallow the ball stuck in her throat as a quaky sigh signalled her desire to pull herself closer to herself. Her hands tightly gripped the sides of her pants as she gave her legs the tightest hug she could muster. Even when she was alone she didn't want to show any weakness, despite that the burning sensation pooling up in her eyes was more evident enough that she didn't have the strength to stop it. Defeated she dropped her head down to her knees, using them to catch any tears as she'd silently repeat to herself, "This... really fucking sucks..."
