His hands remained within their tender embrace within his lap with a calm watchfulness, though before long, they began to tap absentmindedly against one another.[break][break]

such a short, nonchalant response to someone who cares so much - but what else can she say? she can only hope that she doesn't devolve into a beast that desperately feasts upon knowledge; it'd make her no better than a mindless monster.[break][break]

it's slight, still, but this time it's genuine. [break][break]

her lips curl into a smile, that time, raising her gaze and lifting a hand to gently touch the nape of her neck, beneath the locks of her hair. "thank you, calix." is all she can say, at least, and hope it's sufficient reassurance. [break][break]
