Sari stared at the three pokeballs she held cradled in her hands with an expression of trepidation. She knew she should be happy about having acquiring three new pokemon, but at the same time she was more than aware they would not be happy to have lost out on their former trainer. Sari couldn't avoid it forever though, and she was eager to get to know them. The young woman took a deep breath before tapping the buttons on all three pokeballs with her thumbs and in one swift motion she dropped them onto the grass in front of her. The simultaneous red flashes from the three pokeballs was enough to leave Sari with watery eyes for several seconds, and when Sari had finally rubbed her eyes clear; she found herself facing an interesting mix of pokemon. The first one was a Victreebel that was almost as tall as she was, and it appeared to be studying her with narrowed eyes. She had never seen a Victreebel up close before and wasn't familiar enough with him enough to be able to even attempt to interpret his expression.

The pokemon that had appeared from the second pokeball was a Chandelure, who levitated in the air above her only a few feet away. Sari could see that he had active flames like Caraxon, though the Chandelure's flames were purple and didn't seem to cast any heat. In fact, she actually felt a chill on the breeze coming from the Chandelure's general direction, which seemed rather odd. The Chandelure drifted through the air closer to her, and Sari felt the chill more succinctly and gave an involuntary shiver. The flickering flames of the Chandelure were mesmerizing and Sari found herself staring at them for almost two minutes, almost as though she was in a trance. However, the sound of a horrid creaking noise filled the air and garnered her attention, as well as the attention of the other two pokemon. With a metal-on-metal grinding sound worse than nails on a chalkboard, a Lairon unlike any she had ever seen approached her. Unlike the sky blue eyes of most Lairon, it was impossible not to notice that this Lairon's eyes were a lurid red. However, that wasn't the only thing that she noticed that stood out about the Lairon. Its upper armor was bone-colored, while the main section of its body was a dark teal. She had seen a few Lairon before owned by other trainers and they were normally dark grey with lighter grey armor on top.

There was a few more seconds of intense staring before Sari cleared her throat awkwardly and found her voice.

"Hello, my name is Sari and I'm your new trainer. I'm sure my cousin already told you what was going on, but I wanted to properly introduce myself. I wish we were all meeting under happier circumstances, but I hope you can understand that my cousin made the choice he did because he felt it was in your best interests. Him getting into medical school means that he'll have very little time outside of his studies to do anything else and he didn't feel it was fair to all of you to not get the attention and care you deserve."

"He didn't make the choice lightly. I promised him I'd send you all back for periodic visits but from now on you'll all be staying with me. I know it doesn't make it easier, but I also promised him I would do everything in my power to look after all of you. I do have other pokemon I'd like to introduce to you three eventually, but for now I thought this would be a good time to get to know one another."
Sari fell silent after having delivered her small speech in order to give them time to absorb what she had just said.

Malyx studied the red-headed woman and wasn't sure what to make of her. He was not happy about the situation, but his former trainer had given him a proper goodbye earlier and had given him a similar explanation before he had transferred them over. His new trainer did seem to understand that he and his companions had good reason to be upset, which was a mark in her favor, albeit a small one. Malyx understood that his former trainer thought he was doing what was best for them, but Malyx didn't think he needed to go as far as to find them another home just because he was busy with the human form of training. The Victreebel didn't have anything against Sari, yet, but she just wasn't Benjamin. He wasn't going to give Sari a hard time about it though, because Benjamin had made it clear he wanted them to do their best to get along with her and give her a chance. He didn't do anything to approach her, but he did wave his large leaves as a form of friendly greeting. The Victreebel cast his gaze over towards Raegon and Taevor to see how they were handling it, and winced at the sound of Taevor's creaking noises.

Raegon took notice of Sari's involuntary shiver and interpreted it to mean that she was afraid of him. He was disappointed, because it seemed like she was going to react the same way most humans did when they met him; with fear. The purple flames he emitted flickered as an expression of his annoyance, which was quickly giving rise to anger. His former trainer had spoken such sweet words before sending them away, but if Benjamin had really meant what he had said he wouldn't have sent them to live with some stranger just because she was a blood relative of his. Raegon couldn't help but to feel betrayed by Benjamin, and had no intention of letting anyone replace him. Afraid of what he might do as his anger rose, the Chandelure drifted back away from Sari with his flames hissing and wildly flickering. He didn't even take notice of Taevor's harsh metal grating noises because he was too upset.

Taevor was annoyed that Benjamin had forgotten to oil his joints before sending him over, but he was also curious about their new trainer. Unlike the Victreebel and the Chandelure who had been with Benjamin for years, the Lairon had only been captured by his former trainer a few months ago. His former trainer had favored other pokemon's company over his, and he had only been out of his pokeball infrequently. He was willing to try to get to know Sari a little, though he wanted her help first. As grating as the grinding metal sound was on others, it was highly annoying to him as well. However, he didn't really have a way to communicate with his new trainer to tell her what she needed to do. He slowly walked towards Sari, and with every step he took the creaking noise split the air. He had always been different than others of his kind, and he was unfortunately higher maintenance as well. He stopped when he was only a few feet away and bobbed his head at her in greeting before looking at her sidelong, hoping that she would get the idea sooner or later.

Sari took her time casting furtive glances at each of them, and her guess that they weren't happy about the situation appeared to be correct. Well, she certainly couldn't blame them. Her cousin had done his best to make the transition as seamless as possible, but he had chosen to send them away in the end. The Chandelure was the one who appeared to be taking it the hardest, while the Victreebel seemed friendly enough, as did the Lairon. She wasn't sure what was wrong with the Lairon though. Why did he look so different than the other ones she had seen and what was with the awful screeching noises when he moved? She couldn't help but stare at the Lairon for a moment, because the creaking noises had drowned out any other sound in the area. She noticed the sidelong look he gave after bobbing his head, but she didn't understand what he wanted from her. Sari gave a derisive chuckle before sliding her backpack off and dropping it down into the grass at her feet. "Yeah, I know I know, I get it. You're all upset and that's okay. Who wouldn't be? I can't really change the situation. Being a doctor is a dream of his and he's pursuing that dream. It's his call. I can't tell him what to do anymore than you can. I could have refused, but he just would have found someone else. He's pretty stubborn. Anyway, let's just all have a meal together for now and see how things go." Following up on that, Sari opened her backpack and pulled out a picnic basket brimming with various types of food.
