The Oceanic Museum was a strange place: part gallery, part aquarium. Nomi was intimately familiar with its quirky layout, as she had often come to study there due to Slateport University's partnership with the museum.[break][break]
But tonight, she was not at the museum to complete a lab report.[break][break]
She was there to steal a Pokémon.[break][break]
She wasn't entirely sure when she'd decided she actually wanted to steal it, but the experiments she, Ceri Glynn, and ambrose orion had been doing for the M.A.G.M.A initiative lately had certainly inspired the idea. Energy was top of mind these days: infinity energy, for one, as well as whatever astral energy they might find on the meteor. And of course, there was the mysterious energy they had all just learned about somewhere beneath the town of Littleroot.[break][break]
So, when Nomi had heard that the Oceanic Museum had acquired a rare Galarian Cursola, she knew she had to have it. She had to study it, to be precise. Her own mother had studied the ghostly ectoplasm of the Galarian Cusrola, and had concluded it to be the result of the Pokémon absorbing spirit energy from other creatures over time. Now Nomi wanted to figure out if that energy could be harnessed...extraction would be her first experiment. To her delight, her superiors had immediately approved of her idea.[break][break]
And so she had decided to break into the museum after hours, disguised as janitorial staff (an easy enough "costume" to throw together) but with the added addition of a scarf wrapped around the lower half of her face and a hat to hide her pink hair. The only issue with her plan had been...well, the whole breaking in part. That wasn't exactly her strong suit.[break][break]
There were perks, however, to being a member of a criminal organization: the plethora of actual criminals. And that's why one @bishop was standing by her side, assigned to help her with her mission. Protection, but also, breaking and entering. And thieving. Well, he was going to do pretty much everything...except capture the Pokémon. That would be up to Nomi.[break][break]
"This is the back door to the aquarium section of the museum," Nomi explained calmly to the big, burly man as they stood in a dark alley behind the museum. "If we can enter here, we will be very close to our target. It's locked, of course." She looked up at him expectantly, expression pleasant. Surely a locked door posed no threat to a man like him.
