The Sato Legacy

Plot Overview

Nomi's parents, renowned scientists Yuri and Karin Sato, disappeared when she was two years old. They left Johto for a special assignment in Kanto and never returned. In the summer of 2022, Nomi's friend Ceri Glynn planted the seed in Nomi's mind that her parents were likely working for Kanto Rocket, based on the timing and what eventually became of that region. Now a member of Hoenn Rocket, Nomi continues to search for answers...

THE CATALYST (Early Summer 2022)
After stumbling upon a collection of essays written by her parents in the Slateport University Library, Nomi tells her friend Ceri Glynn about losing her parents as a kid. Ceri then recruits Nomi to Hoenn's branch of Team Rocket by suggesting that Nomi's parents were likely scientists working with Kanto Rocket...thereore, if anyone knows what happened to them, it is likely the members of Hoenn Rocket who originally came from Kanto...

EPIPHANIES (September 2022)
After learning that Raphael Pryde came from Kanto, Nomi signs up to work in his lab so that she can attempt to ask him about her parents. Nomi impresses him with her brutal yet effective de-evolution tactic for the Slowbro they are studying, which leads to a more personal conversation in which she learns the following: "They had an interesting concept but couldn't deliver, and in Rocket when you can't deliver bad things can happen Ms. Sato, though mostly in the old regime." Unfortunately, that was all Pryde was willing to reveal during their first conversation...

HOME IS WHERE WE SAY IT IS (September 2022)
While out hunting for wild Pokémon with childhood friend Xiura Balfaltin, Nomi reveals that she joined Team Rocket in order to find out what happened to her parents, trusting Xiura to keep her secret.

BOUND BY SYMMETRY (December 2022)
Nomi is unexpectedly joined by Isaac Merlo while having a quiet, contemplative drink at The Nimbus in Mossdeep. She laments that she has neglected her friendships - as well as human connection in general - in favor of her current scientific pursuits post-Meteno. Isaac attempts to cheer her up by sharing a personal story. The conversation leads Nomi to tell him about her parents and her search for answers. Isaac resolves to help her find out what happened to them.

THE BORDER: ZENL (First Expedition)(January 2023)
While exploring the newly discovered rift beyond Mt. Pyre (The Border), Nomi encounters the malevolent spirits of human victims of inhumane science experiments. They refer to her as "the daughter" of the people who tortured them. This causes Nomi to consider, for the first time, the possibility that her parents were conducting unethical experiments in Kanto.

LIVE THIS CLOSE TO DEATH (January 2023)
After their first venture into The Border, Nomi visits Zev Harcourt at his bar, Howling at the Moon. She researched his background and learned that he was once a member of Kanto Rocket. She asks him about her parents and whether or not he was aware of any unethical experiments being conducted during his time there.

Project Biogenesis

Plot Overview

After extensive research on Tera Crystals, including contributing to the development of the Tera Orb, Nomi begins to formulate a hypothesis: if the shards of Meteno's mineral vein can change Pokémon typing, what if they could augment human physiology, as well? Inspired by an experiment conducted two years ago by the M.A.G.M.A division, Nomi begins to look for human test subjects willing to go through rigorous experiments in order to test her theory...

HISTORY REPEATS (January 2023)
While working on collecting samples from various Terastallized Pokémon, Nomi asks Ceri about a M.A.G.M.A. experiment that took place two years ago in which Rocket was successful in transferring Avatar powers from one person to another. Nomi is curious if Rocket has achieved anything similar since.

BEGINNINGS (January 2023)
Upon hearing about the S.P.E.C.T.R.A. initiative, Nomi meets with Felix Gallagher to offer her services as a scientist for the Avatar-focused group. She tells him about her theory - which she is now calling Biogenesis and asks if she can look for volunteers amongst the S.P.E.C.T.R.A. members for the experiments she wants to run. If her experiments are successful - resulting in something akin to synthetic Avatar powers - Rocket will have even more powerful assets to use against the League Avatars...

IN PRAISE OF SHADOWS (January 2023)
Nomi meets with Cillian Quinn to discuss Project Biogenesis. She asks if he would be able to provide her with any live human test subjects for the initial trials - perhaps Rocket traitors/prisoners? She also expresses an interest in studying his own Avatar powers, if he would allow it.

Mysteries of the DRK Triad

Plot Overview

Immediately following the events of PAAA-Meteno, Nomi and Lulu Flint interrogated Dr. Holo, a member of the DRK Triad. Ever since that fortuitous, if short-lived, opportunity, Nomi has been involved in trying to learn as much as possible about the DRK Triad and their belief that Hoenn is the catalyst for the end of all universes. Are the DRK Triad really being led by Arceus? How do the Unown play into it? Too many questions, not enough answers...

EMPYREAN [RESEARCH] (late November 2022)
The interrogation of Dr. Holo, during which Lulu Flint and Nomi learn that the DRK Triad are working at the behest of Arceus (or so they believe), as well as other important, if still somewhat vague, details about the future of Hoenn.

AMIDST THIS FADING LIGHT (December 2022)
Nomi and Lulu Flint have a drink together and discuss the new year. Nomi feels apprehensive; even after all they have uncovered and been through, there are still so many gaps in their knowledge about Dr. Holo and the DRK Triad. The two discuss what to focus on next.
