flora faces what she thinks may be her death more calmly than she had expected to.

she doesn't know if it's just that she's past the point of being scared, or if she's actually calm, but she lives her life like normal; going to work, going home, cooking dinner and waiting for argenta. as she views it, thinking too much about it won't help anything.

she isn't even sure the bunkers will save anyone, if the meteor does hit, but she does know that she'd stay with argenta no matter what she decided. which is what she's waiting for now-

as much as she hates the idea of addressing the meteor, it has to happen eventually.

argenta isn’t thinking about much more than flora these days. after all, how could she be? flora takes up enough of her mind in more normal situations. it is only natural that she would occupy it strongly at the end of their world.

she wishes she could save her; if there was one person who deserved to get out of it alive, it would be flora ceres. but nothing no matter what argenta tried, could do such a thing, and she knows it. it is a cold, miserable truth that sits at the bottom of her heart like a wet sponge, the liquid of this fact seeping and tinting all of her actions.

she’s moving, hurrying in their front door to be closer to flora. she’s already readying herself to hurry over into her arms; there’s little time to waste, and she must do her best to enjoy every last moment.

the first sign that she isn't alone is the sound of the door opening, and then the click of her arcanine's claws against the floor as he goes to greet argenta with a lazy wag of his tail. if it weren't for the meteor, even despite the meteor, something about it seems comforting. warm.

it doesn't take long for her to follow behind the dog pokemon, already reaching for argenta as soon as flora sees her. something about it, instinct, solidifies the fact that there's a chance that they'll both die, even with the bunker. even if flora wants argenta to live more than she's wanted anything else- even more than a younger, terrified version of flora had wanted freedom from rocket.

"love," she begins, and finds that her voice is steadier than part of her wants it to be. part of her wants to cry, or be angry at fate for something like this when she's finally been happy and free and in what she would consider a home. to break down and say she doesn't think it's fair that she had so much and may have to say goodbye to it anyways. but all she manages is a sigh- she's sure argenta will notice the tenseness of her shoulders, but it's something she can ignore for now. "do you want to sit? i'm sure it's been a long day."
