WRITTEN BY VALERIE KINSEY MAUVILLE CITY - In October, Mauville Law Enforcement thwarted an assassination attempt targeting Hoenn's newest Gym Leader, Josh Devlin (PICTURED LEFT), after a power overload within the Mauville Racing Grounds' main generator caused a sitewide blackout. He was found unconscious on the top floor of the Gym's northmost maintenance building. He was taken by ambulance to Grace Hospital in Mauville City after suffering multiple injuries from Steel-type Pokémon attacks and a direct hit from a Z-MOVE: NEVER-ENDING NIGHTMARE. Leader Devlin spent eleven days hospitalized in downtown Mauville City following his injuries, after which he was released. He is expected to make a full recovery, and will return to his duties as a Gym Leader later this month. The perpetrator is believed to be around 6 feet tall with a medium, athletic build, and is known to use a Rhyhorn, Wishiwashi, Crobat, and Doublade. This was their second attempt on the new Mauville Leader's life after an investigation revealed a link between this incident and the Hank Winters prison break incident, based on witness testimony. No individual or criminal group within Hoenn has claimed responsibility. The heinous act is still under investigation, with Gym Leaders and other League officials throughout the region encouraged to increase security at their facilities. The League has posted a generous pokedollar reward for information leading to the arrest of those involved in this high crime. Tips can be reported anonymously to League Police Stations. One Year Later, Still No Answers Into Castelia Dock Massacre
WRITTEN BY GABBY MARYANN MOUNT PYRE — Despite the best efforts of Castelia PD, no answers have been uncovered in the brutal attack. The only clue left behind at the scene of the crime was the name "Joey Kim" carved into a crate near where the bodies had been placed. The killings of the five men resembled "The Phantom Slayings" occurring sporadically in Hoenn over the past year, where several men and women with alleged ties to Team Rocket, the Poachyenas, and other crime syndicates, had been found brutally slain by a combination of Pokemon and human hands. Most recently, in October, three men with alleged ties to Team Rocket had been found dead in an alley in Rustboro City. When asked for a comment, Captain @rhafiel (PICTURED RIGHT) of the International Police had this to say: "While I cannot comment on the status of these investigations, I can say that every lead is being followed up on with the utmost care. No stone is going unturned. Every lead and tip that we are given is being investigated thoroughly. For the safety of my staff, as well as the victims' family and friends, this is the most that I can divulge at this time."If you have any information pertaining to the Castelia Dock Massacre, or The Phantom Slayings, you are urged to contact the International Police. League officials and law enforcement urge those who encounter The Phantom not to engage, and to contact police immediately. PAID ADVERTISEMENTS LEAVE US A COMMENT
