Aki was drowning in yarn. So much yarn.

Angel had tried to warn her daughter- she ordered to much! But did Aki listen?

Absolutely not!

Parents weren't always right! Just her lawyer mother was always right, it seemed. Aki luckily wasn't getting her nagging, but she sure was getting that 'I told you so' look from the gorgeous older woman. Sometimes Aki had no idea how she came from such a woman. She looked like Mortica Addams! But hotter!

Besides that, Aki was now huddled up in her 'knitting' chair. It was a huge bean bag in the living room with some tables next to her. With yarn holders. So away to work she went, she had been at this for hours! It wasn't until Angel looked in on her daughter, she smiled. Her surprise for her had not been spoiled!

Angel had invited Cathrine Fisher over as a surprise. So she was busy baking cookies and making lemonade. Humming to herself, she would hear a knock at the door. A smirk graced the woman's face.

"Aki dear, go get the door!"

"Kay, mom!"

Aki got up, dressed in a overly large hoodie that went to her knees and dwarfing her, opening the door, she was busy looking back to her kitchen to call to her mom before she had answered the door. "Hi, welcome!"

Color Cathrine surprised when Aki’s mom of all people invited her over. As requested Cathrine kept it tight-lipped that she was coming.

It had been unexpectedly hard to not simply text Aki and ask if she should bring something with her for her first visit. But she had refrained, simply settling on a neatly packaged box of expensive chocolates as a gift for Aki’s mother, as thanks for having her.

With the box in hand, she now stood in front of the door after having knocked. Her black jacket hides her adorable but rather cringe looking Delibird-winter-sweater, black pants and fitting shoes finishing the casual and innocent looking outfit.

A bright smile beamed from her lips as Aki opened the door, responding as she would if she didn’t know who stood there. “Surprise!” was all Cathrine said. She gave Aki a moment to understand the situation before she would move to hug her.

Aki turned her head to stare straight at Cat. Blinking for several moments as her brain took a few lagging seconds to realize what just happened here. Eyes went wide, squealing as she threw her arms out and brought Cat into the hug. Squeezing her and inhaling her scent, it hadn't been that long, but it sure felt like it!

"Oh my gosh, what are you doing here?! Wait.." Her face went red.

"MOM!!!"

A angelic laugh came from the kitchen, as the tall slender woman made her appearance. Sleek raven black hair, pale skin just like Aki, but piercing black eyes. Smirking at her daughter, who she easily towered over, she patted her shoulder. "Oh hush, I'm allowed to invite friends over. Plus, someone needs to help you move all the yarn you ordered."

Angel then motioned Cat inside. "Welcome, welcome- Sorry to have invited you over with no proper introduction. I am Angel, Juchoi- Excuse me, Aki's mother. Her father..."

Just as she trailed off, a man with greyed hair came stumbling out of the hallway with a noctowl on his head. "Oh get off you old hoot!" He waved the bird away, blinking. "Company? Hello! I'm Kain." Smiling, he walked over to his wife. Aki honestly looked almost nothing like either- but she did have her father's green eyes.

"I'm gonna die.." Aki groaned.

Cathrine had not thought Aki so touch starved that she would so readily throw herself in her arms. But that was exactly what happened, and Cathrine enjoyed every second of it.

A natural question was given, only for any answer to be cut short when Aki came to the realization of foul play.

A quiet but gentle laugh escaped Cathrine as Aki immediately turned on her mother, only for the latter to remind her daughter that she had every right to invite company. Cathrine kept quiet letting the scene play out between the two and then the suddenly appearing dad.

“No need for apologies. It is a pleasure to meet both of you.” She gave both parents a polite bow, as one would or should.

Cathrine noticed how Aki shared so few similarities with her parents. But decided not to ask about it.

She heard Aki’s groan but decided to change the topic “So, what’s this about yarn?”

Aki gave her parents a furious look. They both had to plan this! The Devils! Fiends! Dastardly plan-makers!

Trying to not be embarrassed and turn tomato red, she looked up at Cat as she asked about the yarn. Welp- there came the red. "Oh-oh I uh.." Trailing off, she began to wring her hands nervously. "I was going to knit you and your pokemon sweaters.." Motioning to the gigantic pile of yarn next to the chair she had been in.

"...I underestimated how difficult and how much yarn."

Angel watched her daughters nervousness- it was never something she quite grasped. Had she done something wrong as a mother? It always nagged the back of her mind, to see how her daughter and her twin were so vast in personality. Speaking of Aki's twin-

A loud bang came from further in the house, and Aki clearly almost jumped out of her skin. Out from no where came a man who looked the same age as Aki- and just like her. Minus the fact he seemed a bit more 'fit' in the aspect he looked like a strsongman.

"Akiiiii!!! I gotta tell you what I saw out in the field! It was a giant Liligant! Can you believe that?! I think it was a alpha! You so need to go check that shit out, sis."

A stern look was shot to the boy. "Language!" Snapped Angel. Ash, Aki's twin, seemed to slowly piece together they had company. "Oops. Uh, hi! I'm Ash." He waved at her. Then he squinted. He knew his twin, she didn't huddle towards anyone but her close friends- so this had to be-

"IS THIS THE GIRLFRIEND?!"

Aki flailed her arms, rushing to Ash to start shoving him further back into the house. "Go away! Don't you have a date to get ready for?!"

Poor Cat, seeing how silly this family could truly be. Aki came back, looking so apologetic. "I'm sorry, he's... loud."

Cathrine noticed the furious look that Aki sent. She couldn’t help but snicker at it. This was such a parental thing to do.

Aki’s attempts at hiding her growing redness was also noticed. But even Cathrine figured that now was no time to comment on it. Instead she allowed Aki to explain the situation. And then, well she found her mouth agape with surprise.

Such thoughtful gifts for this cold weather. “How thoughtful, Well the least I can do for something so thoughtful is help!” Cathrine said. For once perhaps lost for words. Aki better note this day down.

But alas the focus moved to yet another new arrival. A loud bang caught her attention. Aki almost jumped out of her skin. Instinctively Cathrine’s hand moved to calm poor Aki down, even if her gaze was trying to find the source of the sound.

A man appeared, if Cathrine had to guess, then he would be somewhere around Aki’s age.

Is that? Cathrine thought

But her thoughts came no further as the man began to speak. Such stark contrast to Aki was not something she had expected. But That was what she was given. Even if the pair’s mother was quick to correct the language.

Cathrine gave the young man a greeting wave. “And I am Cathrine.” She replied.

Only for the man to put two and two together and suddenly exclaim a question.

This man really was nothing like his sister.

But that didn’t mean that her snickering continued at Aki’s flailing arms.

“No need to apologize for that.” Cathrine reassured Aki.

Seeing how her daughter was about to lose her marbles, Angel decided it was time to take her husband and let the two young ones be. "Dear, come, I want to go to lunch." A gentle tug to Kain's hand, and the man looked like puddy.

"Yes, dear" He followed without a single complaint. Love in this house was shown.

With her embarrassment coming down, Aki set her head on Cats shoulder. "Sorry..." Another apology. "Um, would you like something to drink? A snack?" Her large yarn covered chair had a mug and snacks next to it.

"Chair is big enough for two.."

Ah, seems she was trying to get cuddles

Aki’s parents were merciful or perhaps her mother was the sole offerer of mercy. Whichever might be the cause, the parents disappeared off to lunch, and her brother seemed to know well enough to leave his sister alone after the initial tease.

Which left the pair alone with a giant stack of yarn, a big chair and a question.

With Aki’s head on her shoulder, she replied “Well, I am certainly not saying no if you are offering. What do you have?”

But then her attention was moved to the chair, and she immediately realized what Aki wanted. One might even call the move rather sly. “It is.” And with that Cathrine made her way there sitting down, and with a rather playful smirk gently patted the area beside her.

It was obvious Aki wanted cuddles. So cuddles Aki would get.

Was she that obvious?

Was she getting her wish?

Hell yeah!

She scurried over without a second though, she was smiling. "I'll get you some green tea!" She would disappear for a few moments, then returning with a obviously hand painted cup. It wasn't that great- but hey, it was pretty! Aki may... have painted it. "Here you go." She sat it down, then went to snuggle right up with her. Cuddle time, brother!

"Out of her pocket she pulled out some fruit bars, setting them down on the table next to the drinks. "Do you know how to knit?"

While Aki fetched the Green Tea, Cathrine made herself comfortable.

The painted cup that Aki brought, did put a smile on her face, if she hadn’t already been wearing one.

She gratefully accepted the cup and said “Thank you.” She took a quick sip and made herself comfortable with Aki.

But Aki wasted no time in asking the heavy hitting questions. Cathrine gently shook her head and said. “I am afraid not.”

“But I am sure you can teach me how it’s done.” Her smile grew cheeky.

Aki gave her a look. One of mock offense, clenching her fake pearls. "Oh dear!" She laughed, soon nodding. Grabbing a hold of the yarn and her needles, she moved to show Cat how she was setting up to get started.

"You have to make sure to thread the needles right, and know what kind of stich you're going to do." She said, going to show her how she was doing it. Was a very basic pattern, realy.

"It can be annoying when you have carpel tunnel."
