Paloma was… less easy. A little bit more rigid. Sometimes when Memo hopped off the Pidgeot he had the sinking feeling she was more than willing to let him drop. So he was practicing over the water, on the off chance she did, and he could just go under and Cometa would lift him out.

[attr="class","samjermain"]He was in the process of practicing aerial maneuvers, flying upside down, when he saw it coming to the water’s edge-- blurry and strange, like some sort of cryptid; he blinked, thinking when Paloma righted them, it would disappear. But she did, and they banked around, and it was still there.

Paloma saw it, then, too, and Memo could feel her engines kicking into gear. “Paloma, espe--!”

He tried to tell her to wait but she angled her wings back and dove, striking the strange thing with an air slash that had it tumbling over onto the sand with a caterwaul. Memo winced, tossing a Pokeball before it could pick itself up again-- mostly to protect it from any more of Paloma’s aggression.
