There’s a feral, red-tinged part of her that doesn’t want to let up. Doesn’t want to ease off the pressure her foot has on their throat as their hands claw uselessly against the tough material of her boot.[break][break]

In fact, it only makes her wish to grind her heel down harder.[break][break]

Apply pressure until it stops. Revel in it outside of the confines of the fighting ring. Push the boundary for once in her life just to see what it tastes like on her tongue.[break][break]

It’s not until later, once the adrenaline has subsided that she’ll feel the uneasy twist in her stomach over the whole ordeal.[break][break]

Blue blinks a few times, and puzzled surprise flits across her expression for a moment. "Peace?"[break][break]

An answer she can't say that she was expecting, but also makes a strange sort of sense coming from the placidly composed underboss.[break][break]

Blue nods swiftly, "Right. Will do." Honestly, she'll be happy to leave Fortree finally. There's nothing sentimental keeping her there. And like he said, they had work to do. What that work was, or how far down she'd fall down the rabbit hole, she didn't know. But it looked like she'd be finding out sooner rather than later.
