She was never prepared for half the shit she went through, but she got through it.

She always will.

Galayne Audrey Valois, firstborn daughter of the Valois family, lords of the Anistar Duchy.

That's how most of Kalos knows her now; the spoilt daughter of the Kalos Railway Corporation's chairman, Duke Alexandre Valois. Once however, she was seen as a blessed child; all due to the sightings of a Celebi in Anistar City on the day of her birth. How the elders mused about the Mythical pokémon having touched the duke's child and bestowed its blessings upon her. Although Galayne vaguely remembers having played with a pokémon that fit its descriptions when she was still a toddler, she knows better than to believe old wives' tale regarding its blessings.

After all, if it had truly blessed her, she would've had a better life than this.


Although she spent most of her youth being a happy and crappily spoilt little runt, she knew well how to behave herself when necessary, like she knew how to manipulate others into doing her bidding also. A considerable chunk of that childhood was spent with Amor Rose, until she was sent abroad to continue her studies at Hammerlocke University; here she met a most charming Galarian prince, who against all odds seemed to compliment her more than she had bargained for. Their fairytale story would not last however, but its ending was one the tabloids feasted on for months. In hindsight, Galayne admitted breaking up with Remiel Calcifet on the day of his graduation was kind of a dick move. But at that time, she believed he had fully deserved it.

Yet karma did not seem all that far behind in returning her the favor. Shortly after her 20th birthday Galayne was kidnapped and locked away in an abandoned warehouse near Motostoke; the negotiations went on for over a week, police unable to find the whereabouts of the young Valois or her abductors. In the time she was taken a wild Flabébé kept her company, the small pokémon having tried to free her, but lacking the strength to do so. When authorities finally located her, special forces infiltrated the warehouse, but during the resulting fighting with her abductors accidentally caused a fire, resulting in several large explosions in the building. Galayne used the scraps and debris to free herself, but in trying to save the Flabébé from the fire fell through the unstable flooring and got trapped in a basement floor, with no way out.

They could not reach her until the next morning, having had to douse the flames on the upper floors and strengthen the warehouse's foundations, since it was too dangerous for the fire-fighters to keep on searching. Although intoxicated by the smoke, she and the Flabébé were left as good as unharmed. Some would end up saying her survival was nothing short of a miracle, but ever since the young Valois has never been the same. After her retrieval she immediately returned to Kalos, remaining with her family to work through the trauma. She's extremely bad with fire pokémon, smoke, and the move Smokescreen in particular. Explosions or anything of the same kind seem to trigger heavy panic attacks.

But to many's surprise, Galayne's mind is a tenacious one. Ever since the incident, she's changed and become kinder, her haughty demeanor nothing more than a protective farce. Secondly, and espite her subsequent issues originating from the incident, the young woman has developed an adoration for firefighters and their line of work. She often does volunteer work with the local fire brigade, under the guise of learning to overcome her fears regarding fire and fire pokémon; the only way her father will allow her to do such menial labor. In her latest rebelious streak, she has managed to convince her father to allow her to continue her halted studies at Hammerlocke University. But rather than heading back to Galar, turned to Hoenn, having arrived shortly after the events of Meteno.

Her intentions? To become a full-fledged firefighter before her father finds out she's been ditching school and noble etiquette altogether.
