The lizard’s regal visage offered a simple nod in response. One finger gestured to the hallway behind her, indicating the new hire’s destination. “...Mm.” As she waited for him to follow instructions, her tail lashed behind her like an irritable cat. Once the redheaded manchild settled, the Intelleon returned to her room at the rear of the office. With folded limbs, the mute chameleon soon settled into a wary sleep. When the schedule for today was settled, the man would go rouse his office’s guard from her slumber. But, for now, he was content to let her dream the morning away. Or, in Anne’s case, enact whatever violent desires took her fancy. The water type's fire for vengeance only heated up as time passed. Nikita thought it quite a wondrous ability. “Good morning, Mister Katahara.” Nikita murmured, staring irritably at the tidy symmetry of his desk’s top. “I trust you met the fuard?” Nikita did not wait for an answer before continuing. “She will not hurt you, but it’s best to leave her be.” Even after years together, Nikita felt he knew no more of her than the day he’d pulled her bloody corpse from a Rocket hideout. Only after those warnings were given, did he design to answer Ryuji’s question. “It was pleasant enough. The bloodsucking leeches seem to have found a better host.” Perhaps someone online had made an offensive comment again. That would keep them busy for weeks. As the redhead approached, Nikita looked up from his own file. The papers were taken without a word. His fingers flipped idly through the pages, already certain of its contents. This little case had taken a backseat to some more pressing investigations. “Hm.” A person’s life was far more important than protecting a business without the common sense to spot a fake. “It seems low stakes enough.” Before answering, he took a long sip from the cup in front of him. “That is the idea, yes.” With a smooth movement, the elder investigator moved to slip on his coat again. “Lead the way.” A flash from his secured phone caught the QR codes from his own target cases of the day. This would perhaps provide a little inspiration for his own work. With that, he moved to open the front door. “There is no need to tag along, Winters,” Nikita called over his shoulder as the tired ghost hound moved to lift himself from his bed. “I believe Ryuji is capable of handling a counterfeiting cat.”Red embers dimmed slightly as the Houndstone dropped back onto his orthopedic mattress. ryuji katahara
