Okay if he was being honest—

The only time one would spot him out of the house was after nightfall. He… he never really was a fan of the sun in any way, shape, or form. Always hiding in the library back home in Canalave the moment the sun came out and only emerging after sunset.

And besides…

There was more fun to be had in the evening, anyway!

So here he was, fiddling away at his Rotom-phone, trying to consider where he wanted to eat.

Not like anyone was going to kidnap a politician’s kid in broad… evening-light, right?

Right?

Yet while the boy was typing away on his phone, another set of eyes was carefully watching his every move. Amused that he was allowed to wander around this late at night without any form of escort... had Gabe truly gotten this lax when it came to his children? Did he simply not care? Or was he so goddamn certain they'd be fine if they acted independently?

Wasn't she supposed to be the bad influence out the two of them?

Then again, she hadn't bothered with children yet due to, well... let's just call it career choices. So what did she truly know?

Rounding a corner, she shifted to another shadow and followed suit. Kyrenai wondered if the youngest Black would recognise her if she just appeared in front of him out of the blue-- because there was nothing creepy about doing that during this time of the night. Totally.

Shenanigans it is.

"Excuse me!" The redhead called out, emerging from a conveniently-placed shadowy corner of the street and approached Sirius ever so casually. "Shouldn't you be in bed by now, young man?"

The phone in his hands was crackling away, whirring and humming before—wha?

“Hey, what the—” he blinked as the device suddenly flew out of his hands and then hid itself in his jacket right as he was approached by—someone. Huh?

“Wha? I live around here,” he began, blinking once, twice, a few times before his stomach gave an almighty rumble.

Geez, Si, what a way to embarrass yourself!

“I was just looking for a place to eat, what’s up with that?” he continued.

Okay, slightly creepy sudden appearance from the shadows aside, the lady did look kind of nice.

"Whether you live around here or not doesn't answer the question, kiddo--" She sighed, pinching her nose, only to feel utter defeat washing over her when the boy continued about wanting food, much to his growling stomach's loud approval.

Then again, she did have to stifle a chuckle.

"Although I don't condone 11.30pm meals on a weekday, I suppose I'll have to do the right thing now, don't I?" Rhetorical question, of course. Kyrenai shook her head, shoving her hands into the pockets of her own jacket, nodding her head further down the road. "I'm tagging along, kuppo, so where're we headed?"

To the potential "why", Kyrenai replied pre-emptively.

"Blame your father."

Wine aunt? She'd just upgraded herself into dine aunt.
