God.. she was so screwed. Everything imaginable had gone wrong with that Cargo run. The payload being eaten by the cavern, Mimikyu getting beaten, her pride being hurt... She wanted so badly to just crawl into bed and pretend this day didn't happen. And even that was hopeful thinking considering how sore she was going to be...[break][break]

"Oh... Why did I join Rocket..." she grumbled quietly to herself, treading slowly through the cavern to hopefully exit before sunset. She would quietly kneel down and pick up Umbreon, giving her a few pats in return for a happy purr. "...You did really good today, Umbreon. Maybe I'll get you a treat on the way home..."[break][break]

A suddenly noise would surprise Akira, causing her to physically jump. Due to the surprise, Umbreon would leap out of her arms and stand ready. Despite how tired they were, they were prepared to defend their trainer. "Tsk, Show yourself! I'm not in the mood to play in this fucking cave anymore!"

Fox’s cadre had disembarked up the beach. Their bit was reconnaissance-- not the bull-and-boar way of a headlong charge.

Reconnaissance, Fox knew, started as soon as you put boots on the ground, and was not isolated to the battlefield. So he avoided the down proper, where things would be muddled in the hectic nature of fight or flight, and headed right for the cavern.

He was not too far in when he heard speaking and footsteps up ahead. Dropping instinctively into a crouch, he crept up until the individual demanded he show himself-- they sounded young, scared, and, above all, tired.

So Fox stood and stepped out into their field of view, dressed in his combat blacks, mask pulled up over the bottom half of his face.

“I wouldn’t call this playing, exactly.”

The sudden appearance of a masked person behind a rock caused Akira to nearly jump out of her skin, a yip escaping her. Umbreon, however, would get into a battle ready stance. Despite their rather beaten up state, they seemed more level headed then their inexperience trainer.[break][break]

Before she could even get a word in to retaliate, a low voice would greet her- well, not exactly greet. It sounded like a threat more then anything. Oh no... this was a joke right? She'd barely gotten out of the last confrontation, attaining freedom in exchange for breaking her hand via punching that rat bastard's face and knocking him out (@milo).[break][break]

"-Are you fucking kidding me-" It comes out less like a threat, and moreso a verbalization of annoyance. She was almost certain that if she was struggling before, she was practically boned now. "Tsk- You're not planning to get in my way are you?"

“You wanted me t’show myself,” he said, unable to resist the temptation for snark.

He crosses his arms over his chest, lifting one eyebrow at the growling Umbreon.

“That depends on what way you’re going.” He rolled a Pokeball over his palm and his Meganium appeared in a burst of light.

"Oh- very funny!" Unlike the masked man, Akira didn't find his comment very funny- even if what he was saying was the truth. The last thing she wanted was to be nitpicked when she was one wrong comment away from absolutely snapping. "-You know what, nevermind. I'm not gonna argue. I really don't have the energy for it... huh?"[break][break]

Her words would come to a graceful halt as the masked man revealed one of his pokemon. It... wasn't one she'd seen before. It looked kind of cute though... BAH! This wasn't the time to gush over pokemon![break][break]

She seemed to take a few seconds to response, perhaps thinking over her words carefully. Was this person... league? She wasn't sure. But she had a feeling that if they were to be rocket, they would have started fighting- or worse- try to attack her a long time ago. Fucking savages.[break][break]

"-Out." It was a curt response that, with narrowed eyes, would quickly be elaborated on. "I've beaten up, tired, and at my wit's end. The last thing I wanna do is waste more time down here then I have to..."

His adversary seemed quite taken by Laurel, who was trying to look fierce but was, in the end, a lime-green dinosaur with a giant azalea ruff around her neck. There was only so far she was going to get.

"You do seem tired," Fox said, an empathetic lilt in his voice. He began to walk forward, unhurried. "We can head back to town. I'll go with you." It would be easier to escort this individual away from the fighting than cause a fight to... prevent more fighting.
