There were few things Francie enjoyed more than helping her pokémon overcome fears! For today, she has her leafeon Fiona with her, glaring at her from the safety of the dry rocks around the hot spring.[break][break]

Lavaridge was best known for their hot springs and, as such, she's decided to host a sort of 'help you pokémon overcome their fears!' kind of seminar at the hot springs. Though really, it's a more closed kinda event with very few showing up.[break][break]

She doesn't mind, intimate learning experiences are best in her opinion.[break][break]

"Fi," Francie says her pokémon's nickname to her nickname with a soft sigh. "Babe, you gotta at least try to get into the water."[break][break]

Fiona yawns at Francie, like she can't be bothered.[break][break]

"The water's not even that hot! And it's nice and sunny in hereeeeee~"[break][break]

Two slow blinks indicate that Fiona doesn't give two shakes of a ratatta's tail about how sunny it is, she's not getting in that boiling water to become some kind of tea. Nope.

Nice to meet'cha, francie myrtle!

A loud scream interrupted this wonderful bonding moment.

A young man soared through the air like a rag doll, right over the wooden fence and straight into thermal baths with resounding splash.

A large mass of hot water rose high in the air, threatening the sanctity of Fionna's dry rocks.

A moment later, a gasping youth broke the hot water's surface with a yelp, skin slightly red.

"Aaaaargh, hot, hot, HOT! that's HOOOT!" He shouted while rubbing his face, reeling back and nearly falling back in before snapping forward like a rubberband, his fist raised angrily at the fence he had just cleared.

Which looking now... had a smug looking Tyranitar looking over.

"Son of a— I mean, daughter of a gun! What the HELL!"

As the youth shouted and the Tyranitar... growled, huffed, spat and did everything short of actually talk, it became clear others were also struggling with the exercise.

"Ya think I can't suplex yer 2 ton ass into the water if I have to?! WRON— ..." Both the youth, who upon closer inspection may or may not be identified as former gym leader/current AQUA member John Sullivan, and his tyranitar, briefly fell silent as their eyes fell on the instructor, faces blanking.

"... Hiiiiii, Ms. Myrtle. Don't, uh... don't mind us." The youth began. "Just. Going through a few hiccups, s'all... Yeah..."

...

"Wassup?"

The water threatened her dry rocks and as a result, Fi hopped from rock to rock until she found higher ground where she wouldn't be completely disturbed by that disgusting water. Even better that it was on top of a tyranitar's head.[break][break]

There was no way that giant would be getting into the water.[break][break]

As the entire scene unraveled before her and Francie found herself both curious, amused, and moving her hands over her mouth to cover the smile and laughter that wanted to barrel out.[break][break]

Greetings follow and Francie raises her fingers up in a peace sign, smiling brightly. "Sup."[break][break]

Her bathing suit is a one piece sort of body suit, quarter sleeves and shorts with a white base color, some black accents around the seams, and sunshine gold along in patterns akin to ruin designs.[break][break]

"You trying to get your tyranitar in the water?"

Oh good, she wasn't going to question it.

"Uh, yup." He said as he patted off the... water. He wore some swimming trunks and a loose, white t-shirt. "Ya wouldn't think she would raise much of a stinker 'bout it, considering SHE CAN USE SURF—!"

He raised his voice and all but glared at his tyranitar as he shouted the words.

"—But you would, like me years ago, be wrong." He said, before sticking out his tongue at the giant sentient mountain. "She enjoys being difficult. Just to ANNOY ME."

He turned his attention back to the instructor, grinning.

"And unfortunately, it looks like she went and teamed up with yer own lil' miss attitude. Sorry 'bout that."

There's a steady smile across Francie's face. With each shout, it doesn't waver. Instead, there's a light boiling back up in the young woman's eyes. She's happy to see this man so free and comfortable with his pokémon.[break][break]

"Yeah... that's Fiona for ya. She's not a fan of hot things. Namely water. But we work here on Mt. Chimney so I'm trying to get her skin and leaves used to the climate."[break][break]

Though, it's really not working and it seems like Fiona and the tyranitar are happily ignoring their trainers... but that gives Francie an idea.[break][break]

To share it, she leans closer to Doug with a hand over her mouth to whisper into his ear her devious plan.[break][break]

"What if we sneak attack them? I mean, maybe we can spook the tyranitar into getting into the water or something."[break][break]

Being who she is, Francie's used to trying to get big giant pokémon to move even when they don't want to.

At the suggestion, he gave his instructor a wry look.

"Ya wanna sneak up on Gojira?" He reiterated the plan as he heard it, lips flattening into a concerned line as he brought his hands together, a ponderous look on his face. "... Let's do it!"

The way his braincells would just take vacations during fun times would've been concerning if it weren't the only relief provided to his poor mind in these times of crises.

He crouched low besides Francie and leaned in conspiratorially, whispering lowly while sending dirty looks at their disobedient mons.

"What'cha got in mind?"

The pure childlike delight in Francie's expression as John agrees has Francie snickering as they get closer, so they can conspire. She can see Fiona giving him quite the glare, but she lets it slide. Because there's no way she's gonna let Fiona win this one. The spoiled glorified basil leaf that she is![break][break]

"So, I was thinking we could spray them with some kinda cold water from behind and get them into the hot spring because they wont have any exits."[break][break]

Does she realize they don't have the resources for such a task? Not until the plan leaves her mouth and she's looking around for the the giant hoses that were at her disposal in her imagination of the plan she gave John.

Doug scratches at his chin thoughtfully, going over the other's plan with a military eye.

"That'll definitely work with Goji" He said after a moment, smirking. "Will it do anything to Ms. Fiona, though?"

Her problem was 'hot things', wasn't it?

"Though I guess she is atop Goji..." He muttered thoughtfully, tapping at his chin briefly before shrugging and grinning mischievously.

"Alright. I'm in." He said, fishing into his pocket for... a pokeball.

No hose? No problem.

"You distract 'em... I'll soak 'em." He said, giving Francie a determined nod and a salute.

as john thinks it over, francie's hands are beginning to fold in front of her and softly rub together. a mischevious sort of, "huehuehue," escapes her as she grins after john agrees.[break][break]

standing up straight, she makes her way over toward the tyranitar and leafeon duo with reckless abandon. she's not afraid of the giant and knows, by the way fiona's scowling at her, that the leafeon is likely onto her trying to be sneaky. so to distract her properly, francie has to 'attempt' to do something to the leafeon. which ends up going a little something like francie starting to climb the tyrantiar that isn't even hers.[break][break]

"alright fi! if you're not gonna, ugh," the tyranitar's wiggling beneath her and making it difficult to climb, fiona hisses and tries to scamper away, batting at francie. "if you're not gonna get down here i'm gonna have ta get ya myself!"[break][break]

francie's well aware this will get her soaked as well, but she doesn't much care. as a matter of fact, fiona swats at her once, seemingly too close, and franice takes on the theatric approach of dramatics. she flies backwards from the tyranitar and let's out a pained yell, holding her face. "oh for the love of arceus! my face!!"[break][break]

fiona's deadpanned at francie, knowing good and well from the tone that francie's just being extra. she scoffs and chirps in her throat at the tyranitar to tell it as much, that her trainer is fine, and that the tyranitar doesn't have to feel guilty or at fault for francie being so clumsy.[break][break]

but then those fake cries ... to fiona's leaf ears, they sort of sound like... snickers?
