immediately after getting home, priam had decided to rush straight to the rocket's baths, getting himself soaked in an effort to alleviate the pain and stress away.

it felt like he did much when he didn't on retrospect. all they did was attack the beast, and suddenly, they were coming out of the cave. he heard those ruinous beasts affect the heart in ways they haven't imagined, and priam prematurely puts the blame on them.

he hears the door handles shift and the entrance open.

"hey!" he calls out as soon as he sees the person coming in. "sorry i didn't wait for ya. i wasn't feelin' right earlier, but i'm fine now! how're ya doin'?"

priam sent him a message earlier to invite him to rocket's communal baths as soon as he realized it. they needed to anyways, especially since they did get caught by the rain on the way out.

in a way, it's nostalgic. the hot springs are where they first got their first real interaction after all.

The hotsprings, the place where Priam and Bryan intertwined with one another for the first, and many other times. [break][break]

He couldn't recall a majority of what happen during their little coma, some details were hazy, others were crystal clear. One of those things was the various night he had spent with mint frost. [break][break]

he slapped his face before he walked in, how could he have done that? He had to act like everything was normal, when did he get so soft? He see's priam as soon as he walks in and puts on his best smile he could. He was genuinely happy to see him, after what felt like 20 years to him. Bryan grins and stays silent as he moves in to pick up priam and holds him by his hips "Hey gorgeous. I missed you" [break][break]

He lowers priam's face onto his own and plants a quick one, however he places it on his cheek instead of his usual kiss on the lips.

the kiss on the cheek instead of the lips is observed, but instead of taking it any other way, priam reaches deep in his bank of optimism and makes an excuse for bryan.

"aw, that's so pure of you!" he teases. he pulls bryan by the chin and plants his own over his lips. "when did ya get so cute?"

and priam, more forward.

he leans back on the edge of the pool, propping himself up by the elbows, as he stares at bryan. he scoots over, making room as a gesture in case it wasn't clear enough.

"it's only been like a few hours, bry." he gets him though. "what's wrong? you don't look relieved."

It had been almost 20 years, or at least felt somewhat that way for Bryan. There were gaps in his memories but he knew that it had been much longer than that. [break][break]

Did Priam not remember it at all? [break][break]

He moves towards Priam, gliding gently over towards him as if not trying to unsettle the waters, walking on eggshells. "You don't remember anything from the dream?" he ask as he lowers himself, allowing the hotspring water to wash over his body. "Fuckkkk I missed this spring." as the nonexsistent knot in his body began to loosen up thanks to the water,

"i remember the prophecy and the constellations," he answers as he tilts his head up. "my favorite's definitely the one that happened on mossdeep, mostly since i was there to experience it, hehe."

there's a sense of longing when he finds himself in this position: back propped up against the ground with his head up in the sky, or in this case, the ceiling.

a hand instinctively reaches up, pointing to what should be the stars, but he catches himself, clasping his fingers to a fist and sprinkling droplets all over from the sudden motion. he wasn't teaching someone constellations this time, he'd subconsciously remind himself.

"i remember some, but not all," he confesses as his shoulders give way to a confident shrug. "a genius like me gotta save precious memory space in my head for the actual important stuff, y'know."

he turns to bryan.

"you look jumpy. did anything happen? ooh, maybe i'll remember somethin' once ya tell me stuff! maybe observatory stuff? i remember that part on... ballonlea! see? i'm remember things"

He uses his thumb and index finger to rub his nose, a simple tactic to stall for time as he tries to deflect the question Priam had asked. [break][break]

"Uhhhh, I remember doing a lot of drugs." he says giving a kind of half assed answer before he tries to figure out things "I remember spending a lot of time underground in a glowing red place. Spending time with jayden cross Felix Gallagher mint frost." he says as he tries to look away from priam at the mention of mint. [break][break]

He did remember a lot more than he told Priam, but he didn't know how to talk about what he did during those 20 years.

priam grew up in an environment of abusers, but he never once tried it, mostly because they were expensive. the only one he had was nicotine, but he did remember working with something that vaguely remembers one of the recreational ones.

"i worked with max mushrooms, i think." they were abundant in ballonlea. "induces the ability to gigantamax on certain pokemon. it didn't occur to me to try it out that way."

priam sighs as he sinks deeper in the water.

"well, at least you had friends. i don't think i had any." as far as he knows, numbers were skewed for league members on ballonlea.

"but it was fun, i think." it wasn't for the most part. "did you have fun? drugs are fun, kinda."

he doesn't argue his case further. after all, he wanted to be known as someone friendly and approachable. it was better for things to end this way regardless of what transpired in the dream.

it had been mostly nothing for his case.

"what do you mean by that?" he asks, genuinely confused by what bryan was trying to get at. "did ya? well, it was such a long time that it probably doesn't matter. man has needs, and stuff like that, y'know!"

he got close to someone, but was it the same? they were friends. there was no other connection, nor revelations. furthermore, she was just an illusion.

"if i had to answer, i don't really know. it came to a point that i named my pokemon, i think. hey, wanna guess which one got called by your name?"

A chord is struck within him as Priam managed to be extremely perceptive. He was so surprised he kind of just sat there. Silent. [break][break]

He doesn't answer the first question at first, instead following the conversation of the nicknames "Which one was I?" he asks, he was clearly uncomfortable at first as he wasn't usually sensitive with anyone. Priam had been the exception. [break][break]

"No. I didn't move on from you." he says as it was somewhat true, Priam still had his heart. "But I did have sex with someone else." he hesitates, watching Priam wondering what his response would be to it. He had a pretty good idea based off of how he had reacted to his question already. [break][break]

He probably already knew.

bryan's surname did lend itself to a pretty easy case of being slotted to any grass-type of the flowering kind.

the smile remains, even as bryan drops the news. while he did grew stiff for a moment, it was because he was trying to find an appropriate reaction to it.

"well, that's... understandable. it was, like, what? twenty years?" he already had guessed as such, as his braviary could attest him ranting about before. "were they hot, at least? they better be!"

bryan was always that person before priam they started dating. it only makes sense that he reverts to that lifestyle once he's taken out of the equation. that's how science worked, as far as he knows.

"A cherrim huh?" he says as he wasn't exactly sure if priam had put much thought into that besides the fact it was a plant. [break][break]

However, after Priam deals so well with the information of Bryan's betrayal that it ends up being the one who starts to get upset. In fact he stays silent for a moment, letting it simmer underneath the surface. "I-I guess? I-" he says starting to become a bit annoyed with the entire situation. [break][break]

"Really? It doesn't bother you at all that I cheated??" he asks again just trying to confirm that priam was genuinely ok with it.

he blinks, unable to find the problem.

"i mean, you still came back to me in the end..."

the naturally sympathetic side of him gets questioned by himself. warnings by other rocket operatives echo back to his head. steeling himself will eventually bite him back.

he wonders if he has let himself grow too soft, or if he always was.

"i-if it made those years bearable, and you're happy, t-then i don't see anything wrong with it?"

priam finds himself getting riddled with guilt. this wasn't going to help him survive rocket in the long run, but if his number one supporter is happy...

worry starts to show now. as a kid, he was always the type of person that would cry if he saw another one cry. it was only over a period of time that he learned to suppress that side of him, among other things.

"i-it's fine, isn't it? like, y'know, it's normal. people come and go, and you adjust and- well, if you had to do it, then you had to do it, right?"

he's not sure what he's saying anymore. happy, positive words don't necessarily come from the heart all the time, but priam tries his best given what he has to work with.
