THE GROUND QUAKES as a herd of dodrio rush across the land. their talons tear up the topsoil, tossing roots and debris in the wake of their mad dash. unfortunately for balder, his lovely plot is in the middle of the dodrios' path. his chesnaught roars to alert their owner of the incoming threat.[break][break]

A roar echoed out in the gardens. Nuts was staring in the distance, noticing a hard of crazied birds coming in their direction. He roared another time, looking around him to see where his trainer was. The bulky man appeared from behind the Chesnaught, placing a hand on his shoulder. "It's ok Nuts, I'm here now." The Chesnaught nodded and moved back a bit, preparing his Spike Shield to defend the fields.[break][break]

Balder pulled a pokeball from his belt and threw it in the air, summoning Geo. "No time to lose Geo, do the set up." The Golem roared as it started to throw rocks filled with magnetic force, floating and becoming almost invisible, the trademark of the move Stealth Rock. It didn't take long for the first Dodrios to collide with them, making them change course since they didn't want to get hurt. But two of them decided to break through.[break][break]

"Step 2. Show them what happens when they get too close." The launcher on Geo's back lit up, charging energy, before firing rocks at the feet of the dodrios. One of them jumped over them, ignoring the attack and being adamant on going through, while the other dodrio yelped and turned back to join the herd. So only one stubborn bird remains... It could be interesting to acquire him.[break][break]

"Well then, show him what you got Geo. Steamroller and Thunderpunch." The launcher and the body parts of the Golem retracted in the stone shell before the pokemon started spinning incredibly fast. He then started charging at the Dodrio who started to throw a tantrum at the approach of his enemy. Thanks to one of the rocks made by Stealth Rock, Geo launched in the air, avoiding the attack, and took his normal form. From there, thunder began to surround his fist before he slammed it into the bird's chest during his fall, unleashing a strong electric current. Before the Dodrio could fall on the ground, an empty pokeball sliced through the air, sealing the crazed bird in its spherical prison. Was it a successful attempt?

The birds had been flocking for quite a while now. at first, Nuts was able to handle them by himself, making them leave Whenever they tried to get close, the Chesnaught would simply attack them, with either rocks or by moving in to get rid of them. But this time... there were more then planned. Even if he made one flee, more of them would show up not long after.[break][break]

"Geo, anchor down. 2 o'clock. Open fire. Falco, chase them away." At the mentions of those words, a few rocks sliced the air, colliding into a bunch of Mukrows, making them fly away. As soon as they started to fly away, the Braviary dove in, stopping them from going onto the garden again. Nuts started assisting Geo and Falco, using Seed Bombs to get the Murkrows off the ground.[break][break]

The avian "Extermination" continued for about an hour, until a single Murkrow remained, standing his ground against the oppressors. Out of breath, the bird was looking for how it could get away. He who escapes lives to fight another day. Yet, they were covering the sky, the ground and the long range. He was trapped. Time to do the last resort. Using Taunt, he baited the attacks of both the Braviary and Chesnaught, before countering them with Sucker Punch. Using the bodies of the two pokemons as a shield, the Murkrow began to fly away.[break][break]

A rock flew towards it, but missed it's mark, making the black bird laugh... Until a flash of red absorbed it in a spherical object. Balder had thrown a Pokeball in the trajectory of the rock that Geo had thrown, making it ricochet on the thieving bird. And with this, they were finally rid of the avian pest.

BALDER'S CHESNAUGHT IS BEING DISTURBED. coins continue to swat at its hard armor, clanging off in annoying notes that ring off-tune. from the periphery of the garden, an alolan meowth continues to PAY DAY the chesnaught, as if to tease and taunt it for its seemingly boring job as bodyguard.[break][break]

despite the trivial teasing, the coins are heavy and may damage the plants should they strike the stalks.[break][break]

"Nuts, Hammer Arm." Balder had just returned from a small trip, and he heard the sounds of the coins flying around as soon as he had gotten in the vicinity. It wasn't hard to know what it was: a meowth. And a variant from his homeland too, which made it somewhat more uncommon.And actually increased the creature's value.[break][break]

Hearing his master's command, Nuts stepped forward, towards the cat that kept throwing the coins. Seeing the big juggernaut advancing towards him, the Meowth started to panic, throwing more coins at him to stop him in his tracks... Yet, it was not enough. The Hammer of Doom struck down, knocking the creature out long enough for Balder to throw a pokeball and catch it.[break][break]

And thus, after capturing the cat, the man and his pokemon began collecting the coins that had been thrown around. There was at least one good point about all of this: He now had a bit more funds for the gym he was to take over in Sootopolis. And maybe the cat could also help defend the place with some of the newly added creature?

CLOP CLOP CLOPPING can be heard from the distance. as the sound grows in volume, one can also see the beautiful fire of a ponyta's mane. it flickers with a vibrant orange, the excited flames dancing in tune with the horse's mood. this ponyta is enjoying herself quite well, and as her fire grows upon her legs, the garden faces the risk of being burned as she passes by.[break][break]

Terra, the new recruit, had been patrolling the grasslands for a while now. While not a lot of berries were growing, mainly due to Balder's lack of time and commitment to it, the location still needed to be safe guarded. Nonetheless, there had been nothing special happening of late. No attacks, no rampages or unexpected visitors.[break][break]

... Until now. Galloping sounds and the smell of burnt grass attracted the attention of the tortoise that was resting within the garden. Emerging from the soil as he pondered what could be happening, the turtle noticed a rambunctious Ponyta heading his way. Knowing that his master was away for now and unable to assist, Terra decide he would show his worth and stop the horse in its track.[break][break]

The torterra moved forward, positioning itself a fair distance from the garden, and directly in the fire horse's path. After waiting for the assailant to get closer, Terra slammed the ground with his front legs, unleashing the move Earthquake. Doing so shattered the ground under the Ponyta, stopping him in his track and causing him to fall on the ground. As he fell, Terra used Giga Drain to try and sap all the energy he had left.[break][break]

Suddenly, a pokeball sliced through the air, landing on the horse's forehead. "Well done Terra. You were quite proactive for this one." Balder dropped a gentle hand on the surprised turtle's head and patted it gently before claiming the pokeball he had thrown. Hopefully he had acquired a horse pokemon for his totem gym now.[break][break]
