The ocean is turbulent. No doubt a mix of the fighting just ahead as they approached the shore. Perhaps Cillian Quinn and skyler dross were trying fighting for control over the seas as well. Either way, he considered it a blessing he hadn't see the fucking whale or equally dangerous shadow bird. [break][break]

His own crew, if you could call it that, push forth, attempting to create a barrier to block out incoming League forces. Whisky floats by his boat as Neon stands, eyes on the waves in front of him. The waters look dark, and it almost feels like cloud should be rolling in for a storm of someone's making. "Stay sharp." he says, though it's more casual than he'd like. After all, if you ignore the way the water sloshes and shifts, its pretty peaceful as they wait for their impending skirmish. [break][break]

As reports of HEATRAN sightings rip through the comms, he glances towards the beach and the tera tunnels that were currently an active battlefield, quietly hoping fern delaney and jayden cross were ok.

Maybe there was one advantage of being trained in Alto Mare after all—

It was because of so much water the sea felt like… another home to him? Yeah…

Thankfully he’d found a wet suit among the supplies that had been left for him today, as well as diving equipment. Who knew if there was going to be an underwater fight? He had no shortage of Water-type Pokémon with him.

All it would take was just… the timing to launch a surprise attack!

(Here’s to hoping.)

His Starmie swum along behind him as they approached the surface, looking for a place to alight and hopefully launch an attack…

The HEATRAN in the distance is enough of a distraction. If only because Neon can hear the comms in his helmet alight with the same fervor as the plumes of flames escaping the tunnels, and running Executives. He waits for the order to move in closer for help. But when the order doesn’t come through, Neon stays put with his partner. [break][break]

“Hold your position, keep focused on the ice barrier.” he said, as the people near him kept using their pokemon to make artificial ice floes and genuinely nuisance to any small ship moving closer to shore. [break][break]

Whiskey keeps watch where their trainer can’t. So when the water under their boat shifts, their focus is on the incoming threat. Though they don’t spot the STARMIE just yet, Whiskey uses AQUA RING, anticipating a horrible experience.

This time, it was his Starmie that moved ahead of him; he felt the underwater currents suddenly shift before aforementioned Starmie suddenly decided to cause a wall of water in the form of a torrential Surfing wave suddenly rise from beneath the surface; a way of distracting the shadow that Lars was now swimming under!

Aha! Thank you! he thought as the Starmie then sunk beneath the waves again to follow him while he stayed underwater; hoping whoever was on that boat above him would be so distracted by the sudden wave of water he could sneak up from below in a surprise attack!

The sudden surge of water puts the pair on alert. Mint's focus on the temporary blockage is driven towards the Starmie's appearance. His Walrein meanwhile move in, dashing in the water with its own SURF to smack away the sudden water type. [break][break]

"Incoming!" he warned, hand on his helmet as he sent out the warning while Whiskey hunted down the Starmie, trying to herd it towards the ice to trap it. Neon's eyes erroneously go to the skies for a moment though he didn't see anything drop. And now, the water's choppier from the pokemon trading SURFs.

While his Starmie was preoccupied with the Walrein, the brightly-glistening surface of her gem shined oddly for a few moments while she fought back against the battering waves from the other Pokémon’s mirrored Surf move as she then surprised the other Pokémon with a Confuse Ray!

However, for the actual human threat—the surprise was not coming from above in the skies, because there was a shadow lurking from the opposite side of the deck as Lars had climbed up the side of the boat.

As there was no more time to shed the rest of the wet suit he was wearing, he decided to take the first move by lunging forward!

Hopefully the deceptive attack by the Starmie from earlier was enough to throw the other figure’s attention off…

Lured away by the attack Whisky swims straight for the Starmie, snarling and gurgling loudly before the red gem began to blink in a strange pattern. The Walrein veers off course, blinking the red spots out of his eyes and trying to focus on the Starmie, but finding there's 3 now- no- 2- no 4??? It can't tell exactly as it rams into the bottom of a nearby vessel. [break][break]

The harsh thump goes unnoticed by Mint, who pauses his search as more reports come in. Mainly in response to the lone attacker going after Neon's pokemon. [break][break]

"I don't see anybody else underwater, and radar isn't picking u-" he yelps, cut short as he feels someone trying to grab him. Unexpectedly, he's shoved forward unable to stop himself from falling on his belly as he whines, "Take me out to dinner first, JEEZ!" his fists are immediately at his chin, elbows skidding on the deck of the boat as he tries to jab an elbow back into whoever was trying to take him down.

(Imagine the quandary if the Starmie was a Wobbuffet, it would just be reflecting attacks endlessly on the Walrein… but alas a Starmie was a Starmie.)

Wasting no time, the purple starfish Pokémon then threw out a Psychic burst of rainbow-colored energy, attempting to smack the Walrein upside the head as it was caught in the throes of confusion! How much time did she have before it started its counterattack, though—she would have to inflict as much damage as she could.

Back on deck, though—a surprised yelp almost got him an elbow to the nose, however he was fast enough to lean backwards and said elbow almost grazed him, before he realized that—

Didn’t this one look familiar?!

He couldn’t help but laugh.

“Well, if you weren’t in Team Rocket, then I would’ve considered that!” he said as he then tried to knock the wind out of whoever this was… he couldn’t help but wonder if there was a sense of déjà vu in the air!

Turns out, the AQUA RING was a good call for Whisky as its blasted back by the Starmie's PSYCHIC and still can't find the Starmie. He blasts out an ICE BALL trying to hit the Starmie looking between multiple of them before shooting out the frozen ball of ice into the WORMHOLE-like void. [break][break]

Neon keeps one arm close in to keep Lars from getting him into a choke hold. But this isn't the ideal position for him. His opponent has too much control over the flow of battle right now, and he had to trip him up quickly or he'd get into a rhythm against him. "Aww c'mon- Hh- Everyone loves a bad boy!" [break][break]

So when he's slammed down, Neon angles his body to smash into one of the pokeballs on his hips. Another pokemon is let out, turning it's sights on the Avatar. [break][break]

The little goopy pokemon immediately BODY SLAMS at Lars while Neon tries to jerk his hips and legs up trying to help get part of Lars in range of her arc.

Thankfully, the Starmie was there to be mostly for distraction, as she quickly summoned up multiple boulders—before throwing them in a neat, aligned Power Gem attack before scuttling back deeper underwater.

She was an independent Pokémon who could fight without her human companion fussing over her… now if only the Starmie could say the same of Lars as he’d gotten bodied by a literal pile of goo before he could get closer and was knocked backwards—

Holy shit, why was the goo so sticky?!

Are you kidding me?! he internally screamed, before a second Pokéball rolled out of his wetsuit pocket to reveal his Greninja, who then attempted to swat the Goomy away with an Ice Beam attack!

Whoops.

“Not everyone does, though! Especially those that have a rap sheet!” he retorted back; before mentally realizing that by all technicalities, he had that too, but back in Alto Mare (however that is a story for another day!).

Neon is able to catch his breath and he yelps out a quick thanks to his Goomy as he scrambled to his feet. He finally gets a good look at his opponent, frowning before going back to a broad light up grin. "Oh hey! It's the half-assed avatar!" he blurted out. He laughs at the retort before adding, "Well DUH, that's what a bad boy is!" he said. "You're missing out, you stubborn pineapple." [break][break]

While Neon readies to fight, Whiskey found himself battered by the POWER GEM as he chase to the Starmie. Even with the power of his AQUA RING, it fades and his wounds do not heal quickly. In his dying breaths, he TERASTALIZES into an ICE TYPE he sends a barrage of ICE BALLS, each bigger than the last to trail after the STARMIE. Eventually, the Walrein can all but try to swim to the surface before blacking out, bleeding out in the dark depths. In turn, a pokeball on Neon's hip clicks morosely, signaling the link between it and its pokemon broken. [break][break]

Neon grabs the empty pokeball panicked at first, before grimly smashing it into halves on the deck and casting his attention back to Lars. He pulls out a knife, the same kinds he'd used in their previous battle readied to fight off the other man only to have his dash interrupted as Gonzalez the Goomy is smacked and bounced back towards him like a tennis ball. The Goomy smacks into Neon's stomach comically, forcing the Beast to let out a wheeze before the pokemon falls to the desk, passed out and fainted. "Shit- Gonnzalez?!" he asked scooping up the little dragon type. He was still breathing- good. Even with the ice. [break][break]

Neon glares, grin finally turning upside down as he readied to take on his opponent. As he does, the Goomy in his hands managed to sit up, weakly jumping off and rolling towards the Greninja trying to ABSORB some health back after the freezing damage it'd cause. Neon can't stop him, too focused on bum rushing the Avatar, aiming to shove him overboard as lightning crackled above at a gathering storm and other Rocket ships were beginning to meet with massive PROTECT shields, pushing them back away form the shore. The movement he'd been leading stalling and being forced to retreat. That's a given considering the rise of pink mist between the Rocket and League forces. [break][break]

Ugh, how annoying. They needed to regroup. But he wouldn't with Lars still on his boat.

He didn’t know why, but the way the words ‘half-assed’ really… pissed him off. Okay, what the fuck was that for?!

“First off, fuck you, second—keep your fucking tongue to yourself,” he growled, suddenly looking over at where his Starmie had broken through the surface of the water, spinning like a flying saucer before landing, one point stuck into the deck of the ship.

Had she… had she sliced the Walrein’s neck open? He didn’t notice. The Greninja, on the other hand, tried to throw off the little Goomy with another Ice Beam to send it bouncing away from him, however the Starmie looked to either be—

Okay, good, the red gem was still shimmering, even if faintly.

Quickly recalling the Starmie, he’d been shoved to the side rail and was about to be pitched overboard had a Pokéball suddenly not fallen loose, revealing a…

A very angry Salazzle that hissed and spat poison at Lars’s attacker the moment she emerged from her containment unit.

“Mirana! Don’t you fucking dare—” he yelped as he slammed his shoulder into… whoever had the ass to call him ‘half-assed’ and tried to either knock him over the side of the ship or to knock them aside completely as the Greninja was still wrestling with the Goomy that it was locked in combat with.

"Oooh tongue? You wanna french kiss?" Neon continued to taunt, laughing as he got ready for the next attack. This one comes form somewhere unexpected. An angry Salazzle blasts acid in his direction and Neon gets ready to scramble only to get shoved hard by the Avatar in question. He skids on the deck before getting on his hands and knees to stand back up. But there's still ice on the deck and he slip and slides into the water. Not a bad outcome but...unfavorable. He wouldn't preferred to stay dry a little longer. [break][break]

Distressed without his trainer, his Goomy freaks out. Screaming and crying the baby pokemon summons a large wave of MUDDY WATER to slam into the ex Head Ranger and his pokemon team, intent on at least drowning the Salazzle or the blonde that had disappeared his trainer. [break][break]

Neon meanwhile activates the scuba gear integrated into his helmet, panicking for only a few seconds before talking a deep breath and beginning to swim towards the other side of the ship. He's eager to get out of the water, wary of anything else that may be swimming aorund.

“With you?! Fuck, no!” he exclaimed before somehow realizing that he’d knocked the horny one (yeah, let’s call this one that because of all the innuendo-filled sass he was getting) across the slippery surface of the deck and down into the water.

While his Greninja waited for further orders, the Goomy on the other hand—began to raise absolute hell, sniffling before outright wailing and suddenly dredging the entire deck with mucky water!

Although the amphibian Pokémon was able to get out of range with a Double Team maneuver, the Salazzle was just about ready to breathe fire all over the Goomy when said mucky water caught her right in the middle of it—

“Mirana!”

Even though his yell had been lost to the wind, the little gooey Pokémon continued to flood the damned place; and while she’d gotten a faceful of the gross water; fact of the matter was that it had caught her by complete and total surprise as she disappeared into the ‘depths’.

Once the water had subsided, he was hoping to find his Salazzle alright; but shaken—what he was not hoping to see was the reptilian Pokémon, bloated and full of the mucky water that had…

Drowned her from the inside out.

“No… you little—” he growled, turning towards the Goomy and beginning to jump towards it; to squeeze the ever-living daylights out of the little thing.
