Reports came if of Rocket's aerial forces being decimated lately by an unique source. Many survivors recognized that the one attacking them was an Ultra Beast, Celesteela to be exact, and that it seemed like someone had been riding it. Many scoffed at the idea of someone actually riding one of those things until they found themselves out in the field face to face with it. The last thing they remember after witnessing its rider was...

"Blast away!" The arm of the Celesteela shot off a fire blast that knocked the Pidgeot out of the sky alongside its rider. As he watched it go down and splash into the water Kazimir scanned the skies around them and took out another Pokeball. "Lots of them out today. We might need a bit of help." Out from the ball popped out a small rocky meteor that orbited around Kazimir as the pair found themselves snug in the collar of the Celesteela as it rocketed further into the air space where more Rocket territory could be found.

Kazimir Wynter is hard to miss as he enters rocket airspace. communication lines fill up with reports of an ultra beast hurtling through the sky, ripping through rocket forces patrolling parts of the island. every so often, marcus' communicator hums with discussions on how to deal with him, on how to convince scared grunts to mount an attack on him.

as kaz takes out another rocket, a boulder appears. forged by ancient power, it carries its trajectory straight towards one of celesteela's arms. if the former elite four looks around hard enough, he might be able to spot a small-yet-mighty baltoy levitating nearby, seemingly without a trainer.

As the boulder slams into the Celesteela's arm a few specks of dust and dirt land on the ace trainer's head. Blue eyes quickly scan the airspace and it doesn't take them long to focus on a small speck. As it comes into view the ginger couldn't help but stifle a chuckle and a grin, "Brave little fella ain'tcha?"

All it takes is a nod from him to get his Minior jetting off right towards the Baltoy. As it gets closer it's whole body begins to sparkle and in the next instant flash like a dazzling gleam that envelopes the sky as the little meteor flickers like a strobe light.

baltoy isn't brave. baltoy is nothing but a conduit to harass Kazimir Wynter , to slow him down while rocket forces recover. whatever thoughts and feelings the ancient pokemon may have are secondary to the wants and wishes of team rocket. [break][break] the psychic-type shudders in pain as the minior temporarily blinds it with a dazzling gleam. it raises earthen arms and conjures another volley of ancient power that sails past the minior towards the former elite four and his ultra beast, this time more pointedly arced toward the former.

The Minior braced itself for the power of the Baltoy as it summoned a storm of rocks and threw it in its general direction. A shell smash preps it for damage to its outer shell yet nothing comes out of it. Nothing happens. Not even a pebble

It dawns on the Minior and Kazimir that the little asteroid was not the intended target but instead its Kaz himself that is the target. Him and his Celesteela mirror one another as they raise up their arms to block the attack. Kaz is safe but the Ultra Beast takes the brunt of the attack and its metallic screech was a firm affirmation of the struggle.

The struggle that one Baltoy is giving them. Holy Arceus.

baltoy hums something akin to approval at the sound of celesteela's screech. still, Kazimir Wynter has not been neutralized, so the task remains unfinished. the psychic-type tries to levitate closer to the celesteela and its intended target, minding the distance between itself and the minior. [break][break]seeing no avenue to deal with both obstacles, it raises its arms as though to telegraph another ancient power, but then the red symbols on its body begin to glow and it lashes out at the minior with a shimmering beam of extrasensory instead.

The Celesteela tightens its arms around Kazimir to keep him safe and spreads a leech seed to further shore up its defenses as well as weaken the little creature in the attempt to slow it down. Didn't matter how it happened just even buying a few seconds would do the trick. "Hey! C'mon focus on the fight!" The Ultra Beast disregarded the words of the trainer as it started to float backwards away from the fight.

The Minior was still ready to try and defend its trainer despite its own size yet the psychic powers of the little spinning ground type took hold on the meteor and shook it down to its core. The vibrations sent more cracks alongside the shell of the meteor and slowly its shields came down and the violet core inside was exposed. An angry chirp came from the shooting star as it rushed down the Baltoy with a psychic to try and throw it around.

a leech seed lands on the baltoy, but it pays it no mind to its greedily-spreading roots for now. like veins, they web themselves across the left side of the psychic-type's face, covering one closed eye. it skirts by minior as its extrasensory rings out, only to be knocked further away from Kazimir Wynter by the meteor pokemon's follow-up psychic.[break][break] it takes more time for it to reorient itself this time, feeling exhaustion pool in its limbs as the leech seed drinks away at its strength — but then it sees the goliath shape of the celesteela in its mind's eye and abandons the plan to deal with the minior first.[break][break]another quick beam extrasensory bursts from its chest to keep the minior occupied, then it zips towards the celesteela. the markings on its body glow deeply — then dull — with the same cadence of breathing. [break][break]but it isn't breathing. it's gathering energy to explode.

A beam of psychic energy manages to swat the Minior away and send it spiraling in the sky. The world around it is spinning, clouds are turning upside down then right side up with each second that passes as it tries to steady itself. Once it manages to stop spinning it sees the Baltoy getting away from it and make a beeline right for the Celesteela. As it does the flash of its body manages to catch Kazimir's eyes as the blue orbs shot wide as he flails his arms.

"Stella! Knock it away! Quick!" Whatever it was trying to do didn't seem smart to charge right up to them. That probably meant something but the hairs standing on the back of his neck weren't telling him anything. So it was better to be safe than sorry. Raising one of its massive arms it tries to heavy slam the Baltoy back towards the ground and out of the sky.

the markings glow more intensely as baltoy closes in on Kazimir Wynter . celesteela raises an arm to punish the psychic-type, but it doesn't shy away from it. as the arm comes down, hairline fissures appear across the baltoy's body, originating from its chest. the heavy slam connects as the baltoy explodes, bursting itself apart into thousands of pieces of sharp shrapnel. [break][break]anything that doesn't find purchase in skin or metal eventually rains down over the ground below.

As the arm connects there's nothing but hot air and dust in the air, the Celesteela cries out as a hairline crack appears on its arm as it nearly droops back to its side. At the same time the Minior tried to chase down the Baltoy to aid in the efforts to save its Trainer. Instead it finds itself caught in the blast and the world around it going dark as it starts to fall to the ground.

A scarlet red beam is quick to find it though and return it to the safety of its Pokeball. Kaz clutches the ball to his chest as he takes a heavy breath remembering what happened in another battle where his Pokemon gave their life to try and save him. He wouldn't let the past repeat itself this time if he could. Still that didn't mean they were all without injury as he looked down at his shoulder to see scarlet running down his arm as tiny shards of their enemy embedded into his body. One last defiance from them to try and weaken them.

"Let's get outta here. And find some rest." He mumbled as he rested against the collar of his Ultra Beast as it turned to return back to base. The skies were indeed dangerous out here and this little Rufflet has yet to fully learn how to fly among them.
