It was time to change up his approach to these fights.

So Pokkenger decided to take a splash in the water (or sand) in this case as a large Tyrantum was stomping along the shore. Rocket grunts did their best to quell it but with one swipe of its dragon tail it knocked both trainer and Pokemon alike in one fell swoop. Some merely ran at the sight of it charging right at them as it roared. Mixed in with the roar was a lot of cheering as a masked vigilante was holding onto the back of the large dinosaur.

"That's right get outta here! Unless ya want to become a snack for my buddy here!" He was probably going to draw lots of attention to himself but that was the plan. The more of Rocket that he could take out in one go the faster this whole fight could end. Simple logic.

Now it was only a matter of waiting for more and more of them to take up the bait.

They were in dire need of bigger fish to fry.[break][break]
It was, admittedly, a smidge boring as they swept down the shoreline - scattering little league trainers with sweeps of crackling NATURE'S MADNESS that crawled across the sand in Tapu Koko's wake.[break][break]
"You're stealing all the fun," Fern sighed forlornly to their patron - something the island spirit pointedly ignored in its good time. A hand darted out, though, stilling them both as a shout ahead echoed down the beach. "What's this?" They cut a glance at the overgrown pigeon. "Sounds like a good time."[break][break]
Hook, line, and sinker, huh?[break][break]
Fern is drawn to the source like a venomoth to flame. Hand lifting in dramatic flourish as the other cups the side of their mouth where it is just visible under their mask. "Yooohoo! Over here!"[break][break]
No sooner would he look their way, fern would signal Tapu Koko into motion - the charged, flickering mass of an ELECTRO BALL hurtling Kazimir Wynter's way.

His Tyrantrum is quicker on the uptake than he is and sees the crackling ball coming first. He almost throws Pokkenger off as a swing of his dragon tail smacks the ball away into the sand behind them. A stinging sensation is left along the tail's king but it is a minor annoyance to the monarch. What is more annoying is the one who dares to challenge them as he lets out a roar and rushes at the interloper.

The closer they get the more clearer they can see what or who it was that was attacking. "No way...why..." Why are they here? They should be enjoying a mountain of Zapsi. More importantly, why were they... "BLACK?!" The Tyrantrum wasted no time with questions. It was a beast of action who's jaws filled with chilling air as an ice fang would try to clamp down on the guardian deity.

The shock that they are met with is, unsurprisingly, of great entertainment to Fern. Pokkenger’s blurted reaction draws a bark of laughter from deep in their chest. “Not what you were expecting?” Of course, it isn’t. This is not the Tapu Koko those embedded within the league’s ranks know and have interacted with. It does not match the other guardians that flit around Hoenn. It is a force all of its own. It has endured alone for longer than Fern knows. It has not had the unity and companionship of its Tapu siblings.[break][break]
It is more erratic. More fickle and independent.[break][break]
Angrier, even.[break][break]
And this stomping dragon is a nuisance.[break][break]
As icy jaws attempt to bite down on Tapu Koko’s smaller, softer body, the island spirit trills with a particular note of offended fury. One of its shielded arms flashes up to meet the teeth that seek to subdue it, and once they clamp around the tougher exterior, it crackles with electricity again. Waiting for this exact moment to release a powerful DISCHARGE that seeks to engulf the pesky tyrantrum whole.

Tyramigo's eyebrow raised as he felt his jaw bite down onto something yet there was no crunch afterward. No taste of flesh and bone in his teeth. Somehow this strange beast's own arm was enough to keep the king's jaw from enjoying his food. His rage at its defiance blinded it to the crackling electricity charging up in its hands. Unfortunately for him Kazimir saw it and could not really do anything.

"Hey watch-!" His words were replaced with a scream as both him and his dinosaur king were delivered a jolt of lightning and as the Tyrantrum stumbled back in the sand Kazimir rolled off his back and landed in the sand with a thud. "Uuuugh...that...sucked." The shadow of his dinosaur passed over him as it shook off the lingering static and roared at the Tapu.

Turning on its feet it swung its tail around at the guardian spirit to strike with a dragon tail that was sure to be way more heavy than his teeth.

Fern could not stifle the entertained laughter that continued as the masked man dropped from the tyrantrum to the ground with a plop. “Size isn’t everything, y’know?” How often have they themself been overlooked because of their less imposing posture?[break][break]
They are not so harmless now, though.[break][break]
Making no effort to utilize any of their own abilities just yet, they watch as Tapu Koko is battered back with a swipe of the tyrantrum’s massive tail. It catches the deity and slings it back. As it turns over itself in the air, Fern can practically feel the offense it takes to being swatted at like a fly.[break][break]
Electricity crackles around it, but Tapu Koko does not summon the power of sky and storm this time. Instead, when it hurtles toward the tyrantrum, it dives at the last moment—shielded arms snapping together in a garish avian mask.[break][break]
The pointed beak of it drives into the earth, bright, colorful energy surging around it as it summons NATURE’S MADNESS. Fern calls from off to the side, grin wide as they look at the drago -wielder with playful taunt— “~Looks like you’ve made it angry!”

While the tail knocked away the guardian spirit it came back with vengeance as it plunged itself into the ground and the whole dirt beneath them started to surge with energy. "Awwww that's bad." The man scrambled to his feet only to freeze up as the energy crawled up his legs and sent jolts of pain through his body.

The same happened to his Tyrantrum who's pained roars outdid the roar of the earth as both dinosaur and human fell over. Kaz reached down and clicked one of the balls on his belt to let out another Pokemon to help them out. They were dealing with a Legendary. A guardian spirit. They were going to need any and all advantage that they could get.

"Kou-z, knock 'em back!" From within the ball was an Iron Hands that looked over at the Legendary and tilted its head. It had never seen a creature like it before but it raised its hands towards it nonetheless. A combatant was still a combatant no matter what they were. Its hands suddenly slapped the air sending a force palm shock wave at the Tapu to pry it out of the ground and make the beach safe again.

Normally, they prefer to take part in the games he and Tapu Koko have begun to play. But right now, they are content to watch the deity attack on its own, hands clapping together in entertainment as it stunned both trainer and tyrantrum into tumbling on the sand. Behind the mask on their face, their eyes brighten at the sight of the paradox pokemon that joins the fray.[break][break]
They zip forward, their patron-bestowed abilities carrying them over to stand directly beside the pokkenger in what seems like a teleporting blink of the eye. “Paradox pokemon are pretty useful, am I right?” They ask jovially as they nudge the larger man’s arm with an elbow. “Maybe I should add my own to the mix too.”[break][break]
If there’s any attempt to take a swing on them, Kazimir would be met with empty air as Fern blinks away again only to reappear several yards away. “Then again, they are tough, aren’t they?” They being Tapu Koko, of course, who treats the Iron Hands with an air of confusion, head tilting as the force palm does as intended. It plucks itself free from where it had planted.[break][break]
But it doesn’t slow down—it continues to dart around erratically, AGILITY ramping up the spirit’s speed as it fixes its attention on a new target.

The second he feels his arm suddenly nudged as he watches the masked man blink out of existence he takes a swing on instinct. If he didn't he was probably going to die. If he didn't fight back he was definitely going to die. He needed to survive even for a minute longer to give himself a chance for a counter attack. When his arm hit nothing but air for a second he was sure he was dead, not even in the realm of the living but some other limbo.

It was only when he heard the slap of his Iron Fist's hand against the Tapu Koko did he snap back to reality. The two of them watched as the guardian deity danced around in the air to show off its speed. "Alright, Tyramigo cover us! Kou, let's charge those batteries of yours." They were just words but they were words that both Pokemon knew their meaning.

The dinosaur king opened his maw wide and a large fire ball ignited and was shot at the guardian and as it approached it split into smaller draco meteors that homed in on it. The Paradox stood behind its prehistoric comrade and let itself charge itself with energy to gather its strength for a next attack as it tried to keep its eyes on the deity.

To see the man swing against empty air made Fern laugh. As though it were great comedy. Of course, Fern was smaller and far less durable. He’d endured his fair share of scrapes throughout his life but he was not about to go hand to hand here. Why should he have any need for that anyway?[break][break]

Granted, he could technically just shock stun the man into surrender.[break][break]

Tapu Koko, though, was having far too good of a time for Fern to cut things short. Though the DRACO METEORS that rained down certainly irritated his patron. It zipped amid the hunks of burning rock, but despite its speed, one clanged into an arm and sent it careening.[break][break]

Its’ response, emboldened by speed, was to conjure and even larger, faster ELECTRO BALL back the rampaging dragon.[break][break]

Fern’s hand moved to his pocket, quick on the draw as his Roaring Moon joined the field. Meraxes let out a warning call, low rumbling thread directed toward the tyrantrum. But Fern was more concerned with slipping up into the great beast’s back than leveling an immediate attack.[break][break]

At least not yet. Instead, the seafoam green Roaring Moon rose into the air above them, the wide sweeping movement of her DRAGON DANCE making the pair harder to follow.

"Push on!" Was the only thing the man could scream out to his Pokemon who understood his words. It meant to keep going and don't give up. Not yet. So that's what they did and Tyramigo was the first to run into the action.

The Tyrantrum roared as it charged after the deity even as it threw the ball of lightning at it. The king took it head on slowing down to take a step back as his forehead tingled and his body convulsed. Then he took a step forward and another and then another. He roared as he continued his charge with him turning on the world's largest dime and swinging his scarlet dragon tail at the black guardian to bat it away.

The Iron Hands only stared at the dragon as it soared up into the sky and balled its fists. Its power brimmed to the surface yet it knew that it would never reach a beast who conquered the sky above it, so it turned its head towards Kaz. He could see it in the robot's digital eyes and knew that it was asking a request of him. "Alright, let's do it."

Striking a pose golden energy surrounds Kazimir and quickly flows into the Iron Hands as it stares at the Roaring Moon and rears its hand back. "Let the sky cry out and us appear in a flash, GIGAVOLT HAVOC!" A large bolt of crackling electricity appears in the hand of the Iron Hands as it focuses on the past prehistoric dragon and throws the bolt as if it was a javelin up to the dragon to skewer it and take it out of the sky.

“This is all getting a tad boring, don’t you think?” Fern calls down from the air as Tapu Koko darts around, furious that it still has not brought down the beast. “Let’s wrap things up, shall we?” he claps his hands together, and for once, Tapu Koko actually obliges and listens.[break][break]

Once more its shield snaps together to drive into the sand. This time it will not break rank as it lets the tide of NATURE’S MADNESS flow out toward the tyrantrum. It’s a spectacle to witness, all pink and blue and purple lashes of crackling energy that flare out from the source.[break][break]

But Fern unfortunately is distracted from the display as their Roaring Moon banks to an angle, taking the brunt of the GIGAVOLT HAVOC against her belly. Electricity runs up her sides as she howls and bellows, but Fern remains unbothered. Static makes their hair stand at odd ends but they only gasp in mock surprise.[break][break]

“That woulda been a shock!” His own dragon circles, pouring a flume of FLAMETHROWER fire down toward them. “Good thing I’m blessed by my good buddy over there!” Tapu Koko spirals up into the air in acknowledgement.[break][break]

“It’s been fun, but I think I’ll take my leave now, if it’s all the same to you!”
