“I haven’t even started looking properly yet!” She called out against the sounds of wind-currents working against one another as two evaded while the Charizard still charged them. But Lash was not going to stick around much longer to see what was happening. Since she disengaged backwards, their assailant seemingly angled themselves towards her protector.

Good. He could do his job then. “Let’s make this easier, I am going to dive low and take a look, if I see nothing I’ll just leave. You play with the hotstot.”
That was more expedient, wasn’t it? He got to do his hero stuff, she got to take a look and they would finish faster. Lash was not going to wait for an answer either, instead putting her Hydreigon into a dive towards the right, surveilling the countryside.

The Charizard, meanwhile, took aim once more, seeking to unleash a Fire Breath from closer range.

Lash, as expected, had protestations. He didn’t expect her to dip completely, but he blinked and he was alone in the sky with the angry Charizard. “Right. Okay.”

He didn’t have anyone to blame but himself because she’d literally asked him, repeatedly, to leave.

Nike dove away from the flame but the dragon just kept coming. Memo threw a Pokeball out and released his Golbat, who valiantly attempted to slow down the Charizard with confuse ray. It didn’t divert its flight path, though it did start snapping and biting, missing Nike’s tail by inches, bearing down on them with flame spouting from its mouth and nose.

“Mercy, look out!” Memo yelled, as Nike was forced to dive away from the fire, and his poor Golbat got twisted up in a mash of white teeth and blue fur. Her blood spattered across his horrified face as Nike wheeled them away, while the confused Charizard continued to chomp and shake its head, like a dog with a favorite, new toy. In the gut-churning moment, Lash and her escapades were forgotten, Nike having made the executive decision to get them the fuck out of dodge, and leave her to her fate, whatever it might be.
