It had been a while since she’d last come here. In fact, she had not been to the zone since long before the incident. It wasn’t that someone had caught wind of her poaching and given her some kind of life-long punishment or so. But she had always figured that someone that she might have run into during those off-the-books working hours could have ended up working here. Plus, when you knew the thrill of hunting in the wild, this kind of controlled environment could get boring.

But since she could not get to that sort of work in this form and someone had gifted her a ticket after a match in that weird tournament, she really had no reason not to go. Even though she had to roll her eyes at some employees asking for her guardian, they had at least allowed her in once she had presented enough outdoorsy gear and an understanding of the rules.
Lash sighed at the thought of that, as she climbed up the path. It really was a struggle to be like this, wasn’t it?

Fortunately, the other did not know how Lash had gotten the worst out of her Hydreigon. A poacher had her ways, after all. It certainly had not been the kind of training one would have expected from someone looking like a kid. But that was not exactly new. People would not take her adult form for that kind of person, after all. She was very used to being underestimated in that regard – and to capitalize on it.

Not that she needed to much here. Instead, she took her time for a bit, sorting through the eggs until she found one for this place. It was only when she actually approached that house that she put on her ‘professional’ face – i.e. a bright smile and way too sunny attitude. “Hello there! Egg-cellent delivery here just for you. Don’t break it though,” she offered with a cheery attitude towards the old lady opening. There was some additional candy exchanged too, so she waved momentarily as she walked off back towards the dragon guarding the eggs.

It was only there that she dropped the act again, quickly. “That should take care of mine. Customer service is always a bit of a hassle, but what can you do.” She tossed one of the pokeball-shaped candies towards the others. Not for a particular reason.
Lash just was less of a sweet tooth than people took her for, was all.

Smart girl. And yes, she knew how weird that would come across said by someone of her size. But that was why she did not say it out loud, of course. That would be silly. And distracting. She was just getting the lady onto her Hydreigon, after all.

Fortunately, that Flutter Mane could just fly alongside them, so that was not a hassle to get on board or anything like that. Instead, she would immediately nudge her Hydreigon to stop trying to beam into the horde, but instead to take off again. “Don’t mention it. Especially when we aren’t out of the roughs yet.”

After all, they still had an angry swarm after them. The ice and fire would not deter them for too long once the dragon showed them its back. Hence, they were darting diagonally towards the sky, trying to get both distance and altitude quickly in order to get away. Those small ones probably could not fly too high, she figured.

Fortunately, she had already given up on actually understanding this woman properly. That made everything a lot easier, really. Lash could just shrug and take it at face value. It was one of those things she considered a benefit of age, even though she did not look it. Well, maybe because she did not. Lasciel did not make any effort to actually act her apparent age, after all. Heck, coming in with an Hydreigon of all things was probably giving the game away if nothing else. Yet, a lot of people still did not get it. Or did not want to get it.

And she took pleasure of hitting them with the creepy child vibes she was giving out there. For now though, she took off on that Hydreigon, following the other for the most part while taking in the area. She was not a local, and honestly, this was a part of Hoenn that she hardly ever visited. Partially because it was an old people place.

While she was older than she looked, she certainly wasn’t that old. For the time being, she checked whether or not any of her eggs were to be delivered at this address, but hers were seemingly focused more inroads. Almost like someone had put actual thought into this. Well, maybe. “Are most of your deliveries seaside ones? Not sure if we should split up or just do it at our pace here.”

Aquatic was not her thing. But who needed that, when you had a good flier? At least that was always her thought process. Unless she needed to actually dive, her Hydreigon was the right answer in just about any case that came up. That was just how things were. Though she probably should go look for a new water type sometime, given that she had sold all the ones she’d poached in the past.

Until then though, three headed dragon of darkness it was. And no, she was not compensating for her small statute with that. Not at all. “Well, it is all the same to Hydreigon and I. As long as we properly distribute the deliveries, anything is fine by us,” she replied to that always energetic woman. It was admittedly always a bit difficult to keep up with that one – not just regarding her speed. But at least this lady was reliable, so Lash did not mind working with her at all. “Though, of course, ‘Lash’ always sounds like a winner, doesn’t it?”

Lash was an experienced poacher, so this was not the first time she had seen someone bite off more than they could chew and get chased by an horde of Pokemon. Sure, never with Kartanas, but it wasn’t like those were too different from a swarm of Scythers, really. Green, agile, with a penchant for cutting. You did not want to get caught by either.

Still, there was a bit of a difference, leading to her whispering a plan of attack to the three-headed dragon. After all, no way it could by itself just beat up that many Pokemon in one attack. But they did not need to, hopefully. Those buggers were hard to catch, probably. Hence, the three heads readied a beam each. And once that human had passed, they unleashed them, one in the middle, one to the left, one to the right – only to then change their angles across the ground as if trying to randomly switch sides, creating a field of attack that hopefully would cause the others to recoil and regroup instead of charging blindly through them.

In the meantime, Lash would not bother to reach out a hand to the larger lady, that would be futile. “Get on board, this won’t stall them for too long,” she ordered the lady anyway.

Hmm, so this time, there wasn’t commotion in the skies but on the ground. At least that was what she heard as they flew over the area. The Kartana tended to not get this high up and the Celesteela, well, they might be able to get far up, but they were just kind of limited to taking off like a rocket. That was very telegraphed and they were certainly able to protect themselves from it.

But, apparently, something was going on down there. She saw some of the trees being cut down by errand slices, following a clear path through the jungle. Maybe the little ones had found some prey? That would not really be her problem though.
Not really, no. She was tempted to just go by, but she saw some pink energy being emitted by something. And while too much of that was always bad, seeing a bit probably meant that another person was there. Someone who might have seen a distortion.

She sighed, but decided to overtake that procession and fly ahead, so that they could wait at a clearing where she hoped the chasee would exit the woods. And from there, she had her Hydreigon prepare a Tri-Attack to loosen on the Kartanas chasing. Or the chasee, if it turned out someone she already did not like.

Lash was starting to think that coming back here wasn’t a great idea. Honestly, last time she had not even seen any space-time distortions at all. It was unlikely to get another one in the same area, sadly. Well, it probably was just as likely as getting it anywhere else, really. She sighed. It was always tough to acknowledge that particular issue. Moping slightly, she more closely observed the area that she was flying over on Hydreigon.

It was, indeed, a fool’s errand to scour dangerous areas like this in her perpetual search for time. At the end of the day, she probably would be just as efficient by simply picking a random direction and fly over inhabited land. Deep down, she knew that just going to a dangerous place did not actually increase her chances.

Yet, she just could not help herself. What if she missed one, just because she took the path of least resistance? It was difficult enough to justify not being out there looking all the time, so any time she did go out, she felt like she needed to do her very best.

Lash sighed, before looking at a flare in the distance, probably another Celesteela lifting off.

Because yeah, after failing to grab one of the babies last time, she kind of had also gone back here to see if she could get one this time. That, at least, she acknowledged.

“The good thing about dealing with paranoid people is that nothing really matters. You’ll just get all scared no matter what,” she replied, shrugging. Honestly, this courier was probably just being properly cautious about matters. Lash did know how that was. She’d been a woman, on her own, dealing with shady people all over the place. Back when she had still looked like an adult, though admittedly, she had started doing so before, too. Just not quite as young as she looked today.

Hence, she was able to empathise at least somewhat with the other. But not too much. Not like people had helped her, after all. She was under no obligation to do anything like that herself. That being said, though, she was done with hiding her personality from anyone. “Though I guess I have nothing else to talk about with regards to business. And this is not exactly the place for anything else. If you want to chat about anything else, I would reckon some kind of coffee shop or the like, if there are even some left open at this hour. Wouldn’t want to keep you in dangerous territory like this any longer than necessary.”
Nothing was said about concern for herself, of course. She had prepared this area thoroughly, with some of her collection being on watch. It always took a lot of care to appear as careless as she did.
