She grabs two pokeballs and sends out a common combo she's used before in her challenges. "Pinnochio, monstro!" she calls out as she sends out a tatsugiri and a dondozo right after it who consumes the tiny dragon inside of it's mouth. [break][break]

"poison gas! chilling water!" she calls out as tatsugiri emits an ominous purple gas inside of the whale's mouth and dondozo rinses it out with the chilling water that's aimed towards the swinub in an attempt to poison the pokemon while hitting it.

had it not been an elite four challenge, he would have pulled out his pokedex and scanned them to learn more about them. but as it is, he has to rely on the battle clips he's seen online, hoping to find something that he could use.[break][break]

swinub's ICE SHARD erupts out of the ground, girthy enough to block the majority of the CHILLING WATER while its SNOW CLOAK does the rest. it moves between abmasnow's legs, forming a similar defense as the one melody uses.[break][break]

roots begin to spread from abomasnow's legs as it INGRAINS itself into the ground.

Melody's chilling water is thwarted by swinub's icy counter attack as the murky chilling water splatters onto the floor around it. "Hey! You copy cat!" she calls him out, but she can't really knock him for having swinub retreat under the Abomasnow since she basically copied his size idea. [break][break]

Abomasnow's INGRAIN spreads out, anchoring the pokemon to the same spot but it helped set up a solid defense for his team that Melody was going to need to deal with. Dondozo shuts it's mouth as TATSUGIRI uses HELPING HAND from inside to enhance it's oncoming attack. Dondozo charges forward using ORDER UP to strike and assumes an elegant pose afterwards as tatsugiri is momentarily spat out that caused dondozo's speed to go up but left it open for attack.

"thank the gods," he mutters to himself as the dondozo charges at them because it would have been a horribly boring battle to watch two immovable objects, well, not move.[break][break]

this is more fun.[break][break]

the ORDER UP brings dondozo crashing into the abomasnow, the impact of it almost enough to topple the ice-type had it not been for how it's INGRAINED into the ground.[break][break]

"counter, pogchamps!"[break][break]

up that close, abomasnow swings its WOOD HAMMER up, intending to knock the dondozo away. swinub does the same with MUD-SLAP as it looks to blind the fish.

The ingrain was a good tactic for Cian, it anchored the pokemon onto the floor and made it an immovable force, in addition to shielding swinub underneath the pokemon. [break][break]

She was already impressed. [break][break]

The wood hammer proves to be a powerful counter attack as Abomasnow swings it horizontally and sends dondozo crashing into her water, causing the electricity in the room to flicker and the waterfall to spout out wildly. A powerful attack. [break][break]

But Melody was going to counter attack, as the dondozo crashed into the wall Tatsugiri made it's move. Tatsugiri is spat out of dondozo's mouth and flies into the air as Melody gives it an order to not lose momentum. "Tatsu, aria!" she says as it fires a dragon pulse from above at the Abomasnow. A tatsugiri counters, dondozo sloppily tries to get back up and sacrifices a portion of it's health to set up a SUBSTITUTE.

years of shadowing rustboro's former gym leader have given him the knowledge and insight into what makes a good team. he has studied all the facets and intricacies of a double battle, and the key takeaway is that the team needs to have synnergy.[break][break]

hence his choice.[break][break]

DRAGON PULSE earns a loud roar from abomasnow as it recovers from the attack, but with swinub uncontested, it's able to continue shroud itself in its SNOW CLOAK, using the HAIL to empower its ICE SHARD that spikes underneath dondozo.[break][break]

abomasnow flaunts its SWAGGER, looking to confuse the opposing tank.

The ice shard interupts the substitute and delays it just long enough for the swagger to land before the substitute was assembled, granting dondozo a boost in strength but with an additional layer of confusion. [break][break]

Her tempo was shaken off as suddenly the speed of the song changes thanks to Cian's maneuver. How could she recover in such short notice, was the new hot shot going to overthrow the diva in this match? She couldn't let that happen "Tatsugiri! The hesitation in trying to understand what order he just gave caused her to freeze momentarily, that freeze let Cian get in an easy hit. The wood hammer lands instantly, smashing the pokemon down and into the ground. Tatsugiri was preparing to dodge the incoming massive lug but it was frozen in place from the ICE SHARD that slammed into it. [break][break]

The music record scratches as the dust clears and it turns out Cian just knocked the two out in one fell swoop. "Well crap. Damn Cian." she says as her tempo was totally thrashed, trashed, and destroyed. [break][break]

"Welp, time to turn things up a notch then huh?" she says as Melody starts to get more and more excited now that she was in a pinch. "Hope you dont mind me tryharding a bit Cian!" as Melody pulls out the sync stone for her syngasuit and a puff of smoke covers her and the field. Dondozo and Tatsugiri are recalled and two new pokemon take to the field as the smoke dissipates. Melody's syngasuit for Oriocorio is now on, a black and red tango dress paired with a beautiful red hair piece. A gardevoir and oricorio baille form have replaced her pokemon. [break][break]

"You should be able to handle this right?" she asks as she poses the question to him before she activates it. Her gardevoir traces DANCER in the mean time as she probes him. Would he deny her request to use the sygnasuit?

She grins, she loved Cian's moxie and it was motivating her to make this one hell of a show for him. "I like making my battles like a performance Cian, a story! How would it be if the final bosses of your journey started going all out from the very start?" she asks him as Melody grins, her emotional ties to Oricorio boosting her JOY Oricorio and Gardevoir had a lot more speed now and so Melody begins her routine. The Oricorio dances in sync with Melody as the diva orders her "Celerity ori!" she orders as the two dance within routine and uses it' Quiver dance [break][break]

Gardevoir becomes susceptible to the confusion by the swagger, but tracing the dancer abilities allows her to still dance and gain the BOOST IN STATS. It was a risky maneuver but if it work it'd pay off a lot. If the confusion doesn't proc, Gardevoir would then unleash a MYSTICAL POWER Onto the pair as one was on top of the other. however only time would tell if the confusion would be enough to stop her in her tracks or if she'd continue to dance to the beat of her own drum.
