Her eyes open once more in the simulated universe, the void presses down on her as she takes a seat at the dining table of her father's restaurant. It's all just ones and zeroes and zeroes and ones, but it's precisely because it's all just a game that she loves to play in such a way. Xenon turns to her left and eyes the newbie Grunt who she was sent to accompany, she knows what she wants to do in response to the offer given, but her choices and thoughts aren't Exactly what she's trying to discern in this moment as she examines the young woman sitting beside her.

A dozen invisible bodies surround them, she can feel them breathing over her shoulder, but they hide themselves well for what they are. She wouldn't be surprised if Marguerite couldn't feel them, but that too is something that Xenon wants to know before she dedicates herself fully to this endeavor. Could this girl find the right path through the sea of imaginary numbers? Would she stumble blindly upon the right answer, or would she carefully take one step after another in a calculated plan? "What do you think girl? Where does the future lie, and where does it end?"

So she was something of a conformist then? Xenon nods carefully as she kicks her feet up onto the desk, crossing her arms behind her head and staring down the old woman evenly. "Not the worst way of looking at things. We're always exactly where we're meant to be, because that's where we chose to be. I don't mind that kind of future, but I don't think the world liked your answer very much."

The figurehead stands, the invisible bodies applaud, the world breaks as a thousand thousand eyes in the darkness open and bare witness to the fools who would try to assert themselves as part of a false reality. Their existence in this world of code was unnatural, to try and fit into this kind of existence was invitation to be deleted from existence, bytes of data flecking off their bodies as the corrective force of the world attempts to impose itself upon them.

"Well its only to be expected. Some places simply can't stand ultramodernists like ourselves, try to change the world and the world will fight back. Its in cases like these where you have to learn how to strike back even harder~" Xenon's feet rise from the table and slam into the ground as she stands upright, her hand flying towards her belt and releasing the sole pokemon she had brought into this datascape. In a storm of zeroes and ones it appears, the mechanical monstrosity evolved from the common Hydreigon, the weapon of the future that would blast through this pathetic firewall. Rhodium opens its triplet heads and roars with the fury of the future, the world around them breaks apart as it exerts its computational power over the RKS System, and once more they are flying to their next destination.

Xenon turns to Marguerite with a confident smile, grabbing her by the wrist and yanking her close. "You said it yourself didn't you? We're always exactly where we're supposed to be. How could you be making the wrong choice?" And the way she says it, the way she reaffirms those words that were supposed to be nothing more than a transient lie, how could they not be true when they're said with such conviction? Did she know all these paths already? Of course not, this simulated universe was as vast and deep as the sea of stars. But she knew the path she walking as well as she knew the back of her own hand, and that's all that mattered right now.

Once more they find themselves in an unfamiliar world, though perhaps just slightly more familiar than the last as they watch Fuschia City burn. Maybe if Margeurite knew anything of Hoennian history she would recognize the siege of Fuschia, Xenon couldn't possibly care less about some ancient history like that. But what she did remember is that she had done this before, and last time she had lost to that man. She presses her hand forward, and just as she expected there was an invisible wall barring her way. The Executive smiles as she lays her other hand on Rhodium's central neck, she could win this time.

But then her eyes drift towards Marguerite once more and the smile dims. She could if she was by herself, or if she had Shred Zeppelin here again with her. The newbie would drag her down, trying to win this game was an exercise in futility. "This guy has a Gliscor, a Nidoking, and a Hypno. I don't know what you have on you right now, but it's not enough for me to carry you through this. We're running now." And nothing more needs to be said as the machine turns and blasts a hole through the invisible walls of the destroyed Fuschia gym, glittering shards of glass reflecting off of the steel light of its Flash Cannon as Xenon charges back and away from where the real Walsh is.

Even though she had done this before, the ebb and flow of this man still overwhelms as Xenon rides Rhodium through the maze trying to get away. "No fair fights huh? That's a good approach, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. People who whine about fair fights and morals are losers who need a handicap to claw their way out of the trash heap, the only good fight is a fight you survive." Is this a bad time for a lesson? Of course not, it's the perfect time for a lesson. This guy hunting them down was the embodiment of what she was espousing after all, a bastard who struck from the shadows with poisons and sneak attacks to win a fight he otherwise couldn't win.

The good news is that they manage to outlast whatever timer the guy was running on as he finally gives up the chase, she tunes out his meaningless words as she swoops back down next to Marguerite, seemingly unphased by this entire battle as she waits to move on to the next zone. But only a keen eye can spot the light sheen of sweat on what little of her skin was exposed, the uneven rhythm of her breathing as she tries to hold down pants of exhaustion. Protecting newbies was such a fucking drag, made her actually work just to keep that guy's attention off of the girl.

But there's value in protecting a future asset. Well, there was as long as she was able to make it through what was going to come next. "All good questions, ones that I have my own answers to. But you should form your own opinions before you come to me for mine, I don't like proselytizing to empty headed sheep. At least if you have your own ideas I can find a bit of joy in crushing them with my own, that's the scientific process baby~"

That was a solid guess that Xenon would normally applaud, but unfortunately so far from correct that she can't help but sigh. "Nope, this is a bonafide Pokemon from the future." The scientist beams as she pets the steel beast's center head lovingly, already the path to the next world was showing itself as they materialize in some kind of futuristic looking space ship. "It's something that only happens in this region as far as I'm aware, a thick pink mist that opens a pathway to realms of dream. Interdream Mist is the terminology. Lately people have been finding Pokemon from the future and... the past in these realms. Real wild stuff." The way she spits out that word, the past... It's more than obvious that she's got a real sore spot about that kind of thing, though just how bad it was would only reveal itself if Margeurite pushed further.

Xenon's face twists further as she rifles through various notes and papers scattered about the ship, this one was something she wasn't as familiar with, but what she did see annoyed her more than anything.

It's good than that something finally comes to break this shitty simulation apart, a massive alien hand digging its claws into the steel exterior of the ship and ripping it apart in search of them. Yet even now Xenon doesn't look phased in the slightest as she shakes her head and tosses the papers regarding the hall of origin onto the ground. "This place doesn't suit my style at all. A search for the past, for the origin, beyond gross. Go ahead and finish the simulation if you want, I've found just about everything I need here." The sound of metal ripping apart accentuates her venomous words as the hand reaches out for her, grabbing onto the Ultramodern Executive to drag her out into space, fingers the size of cars struggling to withdraw from the ship with Xenon in tow. And yet she doesn't fight it in the slightest, as if she knows what's coming next.
