threat after threat, they cut down all that surround them, PARADOX POKEMON and league forces alike. he doesn't know where they come from but it means little—if they're here, then they're not sabotaging their advance in the cave.

by now, the effects of jayden cross's touch has faded, but it is from the absence of that HATRED that another grows.

it almost becomes a circle of want and lack and need.

he doesn't even notice that he's joined by allies as he watches his pokemon swarm a ROARING MOON.

"the cavalry's here!"

priam shouts as he enters the fray with his pokemon. an iron bundle comes out of the ball to fight against its fellow paradox pokemon, though it doesn't seem to care that they're basically slaughtering its brethren soon.

"whatcha up to, mister theo beckett?" priam asks as he approaches the underboss.

a freeze-dry helps theo's pokemon deal with the paradox pokemon from the mist. he might not help with the obstacles from the race, but he can help with dealing with these.

"someone has to guard the base while everyone's away, right?" he answers theo. "can't really trust some randos to do the job, can you?"

priam's iron bundle freezes the ground with freeze dry, causing the great tusk to slip on the ice and fall, opening up for a follow attack from one of theo's pokemon.

"but now that people are bored from the action, they're all going back so it's time for me to take their place."

one by one, rocket operatives leave the place as soon as they get their needed reports. some remain to retain their position over the league, but a healthy rotation of personnel made sure no one was overworked.

he's not sure whose decision it had been to station priam on guard duty in the first place—an idiotic decision as the young man is one of their most capable grunts—but he's here now, which should be a good thing.

and yet it's difficult to feel relief or anything of the sort.

the FREEZE DRY causes the GREAT TUSK to fall but the RAPID SPIN that follows is what takes out the weedle, too weak to resist the splitting damage that takes its life.

the iron bundle uses its cannon to shoot great tusk away after it killed the weedle, blasting it away until it's nowhere to be seen for the vengeance kill.

"don't worry! with me here, we're cleaning up this place!"

as if on cue, a sandy shocks from a distance shoots out a bolt of lightning straight to the iron bundle, knocking it out cleanly.

"no! i was just finishing my speech!

[attr="class","beckmain"]salamence's HYDRO CANNON takes the SANDY SHOCKS out before it can do more damage to them. its legs collapse in on itself, giving out as it falls to the ground only to be swallowed by the mist.

the INTERDREAM MIST grows and grows, clouding their vision as he struggles to make sense of anything.

"priam."

he calls out but he's unable to find the grunt.

vision becomes blurred. priam would have had his musharna out, but he forgot to bring it earlier. instead, he has a powerhouse take its place instead.

an urshifu comes out for self-defense. it mega evovles further as priam realizes he might have drifted away from the other rocket.

"theo?! he calls again as the mist starts to thicken.

[attr="class","beckmain"]caught off guard, a BREAKING SWIPE strikes his salamence, knocking it out cold as a ROARING MOON emerges from the INTERDREAM MIST. running out of resources, he finds a pokeball and calls out his naganadel that returns a DRAGON PULSE of its own.

if he engages this paradox pokemon, then surely priam would be free to roam around to help other rocket forces, but this still means he's taken out from the bigger fight for a while.

he can't be useless when he just got here, he tells himself. he decided that he'll be helpful by beating up every pokemon within the cloud of interdream mist instead.

"alright urshy," he calls his pokemon's attention. "let's beat 'em all up!"

the pokemon howls as is gets the signal to go all out. one strong punch after the other, priam watches as the urshifu demonstrates why its form is called single strike.

they never really found theo in the mist afterwards, but priam did like the plain beat 'em up mode when it comes to these abominations, as the drk triad calls them.
