deep within mount pyre isolated in a corner on one of the higher levels is the area he had acquired on behalf of team rocket a while back, and it is there that he walks through the hallowed grounds with his admin beside him.[break][break]

the grief seems to be muted as he looks around at the few other rocket personnel who are there to bury comrades and friends alike. he pays them no mind as he leads them away, stepping through a passage where they are greeted with fresh air and a view of both fortree and lilycove in the far distances.[break][break]

finally, he breaks the silence between them, skipping pleasantries to prod at the powers of the ruinous unknown.[break][break]

what has he learned?

[break][break] he isn't sure that he's learned anything. he's barely only still beginning to control the strength of his emotions, or that he has emotions at all. he thinks about the battles that all happened on the territory of resurfaced treasure, thinks about the way his blade cut cleanly across skin and steel.

[break][break] almost as if reading his thoughts, a sword warps it's way into his hand. it's not samosek, his trusted duoblade. or noch, his aegislash. it's a rapier made of icy steel, frosted air still swirling around the tips.

[break][break] "this sword..." he says, staring down at the metal edge. it reflects upon his face, violet eyes carrying a familiar sheen. "it isn't mine."

perhaps it is because he is ready for it, that he knows better. perhaps it is because THEO BECKETT is there, that he is better prepared.

he should have expected this. of course it wasn't going to be easy.

[break][break] still, jayden's jaw clenched as his mentor created new rules that he had no choice but to abide by. for a brief moment, there was a sudden, bright impulse — to defy him. it made jayden blink, as though it hadn't been his own. where had that feeling come from?

[break][break] jayden braced himself, hands clenching into fists as flames burst from the typhlosion's maw, cascading towards him.

it is a familiar sight but it brings no comfort. he can feel the chains around him tighten, further binding him from ever escaping as he once had.[break][break]

and though flickers of compassion and guilt show in the way he almost clicks his tongue to stop his typhlosion, he reminds himself of where they are and who they are.[break][break]

in the silence of mount pyre, the dead is disturbed by screams of pain.[break][break]

when the INFERNAL PARADE eventually subsides, he presses.[break][break]
