How many matches had he signed up for? In the blur of so many, he’d already forgotten—all he knew was that after three hits, the first to fall lost…

Who knew what the dice would hold in store for him?! Either way…

Knowing better than to underestimate an opponent, his Absol hopped up onto his side of the ‘arena’, before tilting her head in greeting at the Froakie.

“Name’s Jack, and did anyone ever tell you that a piledriver hurts when taken full to the face?” he cracked, before bracing himself for whatever insanity was to come.

“Yep!” was all he would answer from his side of the field; before the bell rang and the match had begun!

Now that the Froakie had taken the fight to them; it was easy to go on defense sometimes—although with the possibility of dodging every single little thing, though? That was not going to be fun.

Unless he managed to pin them down, of course!

“Cordy, go! You got this!” he would cheer his Absol on, as she made to charge forward with a surprise Night Slash attack!

…and now she was soaked from head to toe!

“Cordy, don’t lose your temper!” he called out as the Dark-type shook her fur out; the better to dry it somewhat before changing tactics and then barreling forward with a surprise Psycho Cut attack towards the flightly little Froakie!

Both him and the Absol couldn’t help but roll their eyes at what they were witnessing from the other human who let the Froakie fight on his own… what the hell-ass even was that supposed to be?

Scoffing slightly, she didn’t let the taunting faze her even as she took a direct hit straight to the face from the little Froakie… there really were some things that could not be done without getting one’s hands dirty.

“Cordy, you’re definitely better than that!” he called from his side of the stage.

“Show ‘em your finesse and grace!”

With those words, she was bolstered enough to attempt landing a surprise Sucker Punch on the Froakie.

The Absol made to step aside, before trying to catch the Froakie with a surprise Night Slash once more—and then he realized that shit was about to hit the fan unless he could pull a win out from somewhere!

Come on, come on, come on! he thought frantically as the Absol continued to keep her stare on the Froakie; in case the Water-type decided to do something to catch her off-guard.

There was… admittedly, one more attack they could use, but… maybe she should’ve used it earlier, and not now!

Too late for that, though, all things considered, as the Absol then attempted to peer into the Future with her foreSight, wondering if they could still pull out a win on this.

He could only cross his fingers and mentally pray at this point—

“Come on, Cordy! We’ll get through this! Let’s GO!” he continued, hoping against hope that cheering her on would get them a hard-fought victory… because for once, he actually wanted to win, but then again who knew how this would pan out?!
