Granted, they hadn't been in a lot of matches, specially compared to some of the folk really going for the gold this time around... specially the man before him.

"Shall we, then?" He asked, raising a pointed digit to the sky. A vast shadow swept over the battlefield, before Lancelette the corviknight descended onto the field, whipping up a large dust cloud with her flapping wings.

"Careful." Gwyar said to his pokemon simply, eyes on their opponent. "They're leading the score. They're not to be underestimated."

Narrowing her gaze, the corviknight nodded before leaping in the air with a flap of the wings. Time to battle.

He smiled brightly.

"I visited the cinema with my daughters recently." He didn't particularly care for hero flicks, but the kids had fun, and that was all that mattered.

Putting that aside—

As stated before, their opponent was the man most likely to win the tournament.

Best to take things seriously from the word GO!

Lancelette did not bother with rising any higher in the air— she had her target, and she had decided to start things off with a bang, for better or worse.

Launching forth like a living missile, her form shimmering as a giant blazing eagle swallowed her whole, the Corviknight performed what could be charitably described as an airtight barrel roll around the oncoming hydro pump, risking the possible damage for a hopefully sure-strike!

already losing a life, cian starts the battle off on the wrong foot, falling victim to Gwyar Wledig's charm. it's likely the accent.[break][break]

BRAVE BIRD slams into froakie, knocking the wind out of the small frog. its feet dig into the ground as it's pushed back, returning a HYDRO PUMP to try and blow the bird away.[break][break]

The proximity allows the blast to land home, drilling into her plate of feathers whilst pushing her away into the air.

With a desperate flap of the wings, Lancelette just barely managed to get off the hydro pump, her aura surging before sending dark shadows hurtling down towards the Froakie.

Gwyar raised his gauntlet in the air, and a surge of power followed.

As the Froakie came towards her to keep pressing the advantage, Lancelette spread her wings wide before suddenly launching sky high like a bullet, her entire body a crimson comet.

She did not slow down even as she reached her apex height, instead swinging around in a sharp zig zag before barreling down towards the Froakie at supersonic speed, crashing into the arena like a bomb.

As the dust settled, Lancelette rose from a crouch to find herself surrounded by multiple clones, her sharp avian gaze shifting from one to the other.

A bead of anime sweat rolled down her neck as it tensed up, her talons planting themselves firmly onto the soil before she spun in place, her wings gleaming like silver as she extended her wingspan as far as it could reach, attempting to cut through all the clones in one fell swoop.

Vomit comes flying at her, and she can either dodge and counter, or fall.

She launches forward with what little energy she has left, once again attempting an airtight barrel roll around the blast whilst her wings are enveloped in blazing flames.
