Not a moment later, a shadowy aura rose around her, before several phantoms surged towards her opponent like missiles.

Sio hummed contentedly at Gwyar's response; humble statements often led to more impressive actions, in their experience. Perhaps he'd have something up his sleeve later?

For now, Quill is more than ready to keep playing with every opponent he runs across- and Lancelette sending down her shadowy phantoms is no different. Painting some pink to purple, Quill's Me First allows him to bring up his own shadowy aura, before sending ghastly blobs of paint Lancelette's way!

The phantoms clash, and, mortifyingly, the originals seem to lose out against the remakes, causing Lancelette to squawk as they come barreling into her.

She's briefly knocked down, but manages to recover before hitting the ground, her wings spreading wide before launching her like a missile with a single flap, flying in a straight line towards Quill.

Her body burst into flames as she did, truly becoming a missile as she zeroed into her opponent.

Quill gives an eager, almost cocky yap as Lancelette goes down with the onrush of faux poltergeists- though, there is a glimpse of concern in his eyes when she near crashes to the ground.

And that concern rises into fear when he realizes she's now barreling right towards him.

Quill throws up his tail, hurriedly painting some more- from the pink speckles in its aura, it's clear that he's still using Me First, but...he doesn't do anything, nor is he outright affected by his own move. Instead, the flames seem to burst from the tip of his tail until they form what appears to be a splotchy, painted fascimile of Lancelette herself. Should this work, her Brave Bird would fall flat, and she'd get a face full of paint.

And fall flat it did. This was getting frustrating now. Lancelette would come to despise art at this rate.

With her temper flaring up, Lancelette lurched back and raised her wings high, launching high into the sky and briefly disappearing into the glare of the sun—

Before returning back surrounded in a crimson cowl, her silhouette blurrying as it came crashing down unto Smeargle with a booming crash.

Well, the painter certainly didn't want Lancelette to DESPISE art! Maybe...one last trick would get her to continue to admire it? He was a skilled painter after all!

And one that was really good at mimicking others.

Hurriedly painting pink, red, and black over himself. Quill Transforms into a mockup of Lancelette. He then brandishes his new pair of Steel Wings to defend himself against her, hoping to have the Supersonic Skystrike bounce right off like nothing.
