Honestly, her memory was not the best when it came to people, especially on days when she rapidly fired fights against a multitude of people. Lucario had barely been healed from that last battle and was being sent out again already.

But that was fine. Probably. “Hello there Mister…Alex, right? It’s been a while.” That would probably be enough of an explanation, just in case she was getting that name wrong. Not that anyone would fault her. Maybe. Probably. “Anyway, it seems like this quick battle will be ours, so let’s get right to it and give our collective best.” Or whatever counted as such for the odd rules of this tournament.

“To be fair, I do forget a lot of things,” she replied with a bit of a shrug. “But I do remember the battle, but we barely did more than exchange names, so those get lost.” A brief nod to herself indicated that she saw the matter settled. Not too many people even remembered the names of their challengers. And she’d been in a bit of a frenzy to get badges back then, so the moment she’d finished that fight, she had already reached for the next.

Lucario, in the meantime, just watched that Braviary bulk up – and decided that it might as well take the opportunity to boost itself up with sword dance. Not like it was too easy to get to a flying foe anyway. Best to have them come to it.

Well, they had won the intimidation battle. That probably netted them something much akin to an advantage in attack power, if nothing else. But despite being the weaker poser, the Braviary tried its best to come for their throat there.

Naturally, Lucario watched the other approach. After bulking up like that, it was difficult for one to hide their intention, after all. It would attack in some fashion. The only real question was as to how. And even that was limited by the angles of attack it could take.

Lucario did not have to move. It knew that, when the other rushed in his general direction. And Megan knew it too. They both waited for the bird to come close, ready to welcome it with a Close Combat.

Well, that was an inconclusive exchange. The Close Combat hit, but Lucario would be picked up, taken for a ride. The system flagged that as a loss for them, but Megan did not really care, having gotten into this fight for once.

And this was a prime opportunity to some fun to be had. Namely, since the Braviary insisted on being so close, she decided to activate her mega accessory, with Lucario’s spiky armor likely damaging the other in the process already. If that succeeded and it was let go, it would use that opportunity to throw an Aura Sphere right up at the bird as it was falling, using the momentum of that attack alone to adjust its fall and trying to land upright.

Well, things had evidently not concluded yet. Which just meant that Lucario fell to the ground, managing a proper three-point landing as it did, kicking up dust all over the place. Once that was done, it swiftly looked upwards, trying to discern whether or not the aura sphere had landed by now, or whether it needed to fling another at the flying opponent.

It readied one regardless, just in case, while both it and its trainer kept their eyes skywards, to see how the bird was handling the first one. Hopefully not too well, since the mega evolution would not hold forever. This was probably going to decide the match one way or another.
