She’s maybe getting a little bit better at this. Blue still thinks she’s a far cry from a decent trainer—no matter how loyal her primary pokemon are, or how well they listen. The mightyena by her side included. But she’s learned more throughout the course of this tournament than she’d thought she would. She’s peeked out of her taciturn, isolated shell, becoming a little more settled under the constant weight of audience eyes. She’s figured out she could actually be sort of decent at this whole casual battling thing.[break][break]

That it’s sort of fun.[break][break]

Enough to feel a bit eager going into her next match. Not enough to remove the stiffly awkward and impassive expression from her face—she cannot manage perky, and probably won’t ever will. But her eyes are maybe a little bit brighter. She tries her hand at smiling over to her opponent again, and ducks her head in formal greeting. “Good luck.”

Side by side Yvaine and her Zoroark entered the stadium once more. Although her last fight had rattled her resolve, some time away from the battles to chase the scent of food, ambiance, and thunder had restored her enough to attempt once more. Mayhaps not as giddy as she had been at the start, or as ambitious, but she would attempt. Attempt to find the fun despite the losses stacking in rapid succession. This was not about the results, but the bonding between her and her Zoroark.

She just had to remind herself every now and than of said reason. The true reason she had signed up for this tournament. To prove her mettle was only one of the extras added to said reason.

Raising her hand in greeting, she nodded at her Zoroark to go ahead and get in position, feeling its body brush against her as it passed her by. It knew the reason why the losses were eating at its trainer, the deeper meaning that had nothing to do with battling. But it would show her there was more to it.

With a determined huff it nodded its head at the young woman and the Mightyena before them. "You too! Let's make this a good one."

Blue flashed the other woman the most solemn thumbs up, though it could have been considered a gesture of good sportsmanship. “You got it.” She looked over at her mightyena and nodded, and the canine let out a whiny huff of understanding.[break][break]

With a whistle, Bonnie sprang forward on cue—only to be enveloped in the light that absorbed her from the activated tera orb in Blue’s hand. When she reemerged she was coated in poison terastalization.[break][break]

Teeth shining in a wide grin for the zoroark, the mightyena surged forward again with bolstered energy. Closing the distance before she snapped out at it with POISON FANGS.

The start had only just been signaled when the Mightyena burst alight, its physique now covered in the sparkling phenomenon she'd only read about so far; terastalization. Distracted by the beauty of it all, its opponents Poison Fangs sank into its forearm just as quickly, making it roar out in pain.

Violently swinging its arm to get the Mightyena to let go, it resorted to an additional Night Slash to make it weaken its grip.

It hadn’t been intended as a distraction, but the glow of the tera typing served that purpose all the same. Bonnie’s teeth sank in and she whipped her head side to side to pull at the zoroark before it slashed out at her.[break][break]

Its claws landed, and the mightyena leapt back with a howl, unlatching her fangs from the other pokemon’s arm. She didn’t stay away for long, though–leaping back in toward it with the intent to PLAY ROUGH as fairy light sparkled around her paws.

With a pained hiss it growled at the incoming Mightyena, hunching down on all fours and rushing off towards it, planning to counter the sparkle-pawed Play Rough with a purple-infused Foul Play of its own.

Fairy and dark energy collided as the two pokemon met one another in a combined show of attacks. Bonnie growled then peeled away, before circling back around. She charged the zoroark then, attempting to full body tackle it in order to TAKE DOWN her opponent.

An almost fairy tale-esque effect resolves as they break away from their physical clash, only to clash again; however this time her Zoroark goes for a sharper option; Night Slash.

In a failed attempt to smack her opponent to the side so it wouldn't be fully hit with the Take Down, it ends up taking the full burnt of the attack instead.

Thrown assunder, Zoroark barrels off into the nearest wall like a ragdoll, and doesn't get up again.

The impact is a full crash course collision, and her own weight throws Bonnie into a barrel roll across the ground as the zoroark goes flying. It’s a hit on herself that she takes heavily, but the mightyena soon pushes herself back to her feet with a few yaps of victory.[break][break]

Blue’s brows rose as the canine trotted back, “Didn’t know you had that in ya,” she comments as the mightyena huffs in indignant response. Her gaze lifts to her opponent, and the fallen zoroark. “Good match,” she tries, a crooked and sort of apologetic smile tugging at her mouth.
