[nospaces] [attr="class","oraocean"] [attr="class","body"] A tournament was no place for a woman with mystical devotions, one that inhabited the barren depths to train oceanic spirits rather than bringing them past the shores. In the swirling tides, Oracelies felt at home more than anywhere else she could ever step foot- a crash of a wave, a pull of a tide, the drowning of a precious soul. She could feel it all under the surface, where nature was unwilling to answer to the touch of mankind. Yet through such understanding and the peace that came upon the back of Agaricia, she still could not quite understand what would bring whirlpool dwellers of the inhabited ocean so close to the place humanity called its home. It was a beguiling task which she had been assigned to quell.[break][break] Accompanied by another, no less, one that she had been unable to recognize by name nor notoriety; she assumed they would be one unacquainted with what she considered to be her goddess, the sea, just like most of the others. It was all the more just in her eyes to believe this about every soul, especially those who had been residents of the tropical region for years on end. Had she been here to protect the marvel that was Sootopolis from the greedy hands of the usurpers, she would have given every last drop of hers to prevent such a wretched occupation. Grudges ran deeper than her superiority complex, even with its oil-slick vibrancies.[break][break] The sea witch arrived from the depths, shooting into the skies from the brilliant azure on the back of an illuminant Gyarados- right next to the one that had risen upon some metallic, strange pokemon. A grace present within the thrash of its tail, she stared up at the ranger with a gaze that could cut.[break][break] "You're out of your element, boy," she said softly, trickling water from a long braid, ".. dragons of the sea are vicious, and ancient salt has made its way into their scales."[break][break] From her belt uncoiled a net, which already contained a few species of fish that had made their way inside on her way here. Spirits which seemed to have wanted to hitch a ride, no doubt.[break][break] "I'd love to hear any plans you may or may not have."[break][break] Solitary lifestyles had their pros and cons, those which often resulted in not being in the know. Had she put in more of an effort to meet those who had taken to an armband, she surely would not have underestimated him. If only she knew.
