SYLVIA BRIAR

A woman born of unfortunate circumstances, thrown further into a deeper hole, then willingly diving deeper for the sake of survival; Sylvia has had enough of the lies, alcohol, lights and pleasure of the red light district to live. In Kalos, she was an often sought out prostitute under the name ROSE. She manipulated and used many men and women in hopes of survival, unknowingly climbing a social ladder and falling deeper and deeper into dangerous crowds. Before she reached a point of no return, she fled Kalos with the money she's made to settle down and start a new life in Hoenn as a humble bar singer.

Sylvia is polite, sweet, and an all around friendly person. There's nothing significant about her, aside from a pretty face and a soothing voice. Her angelic disposition tends to attract those in need of comfort or help, although the frequent acts of kindness and selflessness elicit suspicion of her and her character. Despite having the talent, the appearance and the reputation, she has made no explicit attempts to manipulate the people around her; she lacks ambition.

She is a woman who gives love so easily, but has never understood it herself.

CURRENT PLOTS

ADJUSTMENTS TO HOENN
She's only moved to Hoenn around the New Year, so she's still very new to the area. She is unaware of the events of the region prior to her arrival, and generally stays away from the politics and disasters. Sylvia is only focused on maintaining her peaceful, everyday life.

SEEKING:

• A place for her to work. Currently, she's working as a freelance bar singer, and hasn't properly settled down in one place.
• League/Rocket characters who she can talk to while at work. They could be drinking and just need someone to talk to. Maybe you need someone to rant to, or to vent to, or you just want some small talk while downing some booze. She'll be there. 
• Friends, always! She's in a new and unfamiliar region, and the idea of navigating this place all by herself is a little jarring.

MAKING SENSE OF THE MADNESS
Pleasantries aside, Sylvia was part of the underground in Kalos. Although she wasn't majorly involved past her sex work, she built up a notorious reputation as a desirable "offering", or an object to be traded between higher powers. In order to protect herself and build power, she broke hearts and manipulated her way into rich mens' hearts and wallets. She has since denounced that way of living, but old habits die hard.

SEEKING:

• I like playing with the idea of her leading someone on by accident. It's so easy to confuse her kindness and lack of boundaries in the sand as her being interested, especially when playful flirting is thrown into the mix.
• If you're from Kalos and were involved in the underground or Red Light district, you'll likely know her whether through work or through word of mouth. Maybe you were friends back then. Maybe she screwed you over when she was a pawn for someone else. Her heart never belonged to anyone.
