The first thing that he would encounter was an… aww, what a cute bat!

It even had a heart-shaped nose! Wasn’t that sweet.

“Hey there,” he called to the little bat that was flying by. “Go on, go back to your partner. Or family, if you have one.”

Because you never know if you’re separating a Pokémon from their family out here, so…

He continued onward, deeper into the Safari Zone.

It wouldn’t take too long before something decided to swoop out of the trees above him in some kind of dive-bombing attack and—

Well—

“Whoa!” he yelped as he leapt out of the way—almost smacking hard into a tree as the Rookidee whirled around and cawed derisively at him.

“What? Hey!” he yelped as this time, he was on the receiving end of a Fury Attack and ow, ow, ouch, that fucking hurt!

“Why you gotta be so aggressive?!” he exclaimed as he tossed a Pokéball forward and summoned his Absol in mid-air; immediately watching as the white blur then lashed out with a surprise Night Slash on the aggressive Flying-type Pokémon that wanted to peck his eyes out.

“Rude!” he exclaimed as he then realized what was up—before the Rookidee whirled and then tried to attack the Absol this time with a Drill Peck.

“That’s a menace, Cordy, is what it is!” he exclaimed as the white blur then smacked it out of the air with a surprise Sucker Punch attack, sending it screeching before landing head-first onto the ground.

“And you’re going in here!” he exclaimed as he threw the first of his four Safari Balls at the Rookidee.

Once he’d secured the Rookidee in the Safari Ball, it was off for the human and his Absol companion!

It wouldn’t take too long before they would eventually reach a part of the Safari Zone that had a waterside edge—was it bordering a lake, or some other body of water that was being fed directly into the landscape here?

He wasn’t sure.

Either way, he saw something… a strange… fish swimming in the shallows.

“No, Cordy. Don’t attack it,” he lightly warned the Absol, who was all but ready to swing her horn at the pink thing all pistons fired.

“Let’s go. We’re looking for something here, and we might run out of time.”

They were literally running out of time, because the next thing they realized was that they had walked straight into a Magical Leaf trap and there was an angry little Petilil that was screaming bloody murder at them for ‘ruining her fun’ or something along those lines.

Of course, he was only guessing what the Grass-type was so cheesed about as another barrage of Magical Leaves came flying towards him and the Absol!

“Yow! Hey, watch it!” he yelped; and that was all the impetus his Absol needed to suddenly lash out with a Night Slash attack; shredding the leaves into tiny little pieces before she ran the distance and closed it with a surprise Sucker Punch that sent the Petilil flying—

“Don’t throw her out of the picture!” he exclaimed as he chased after the Grass-type and threw the second of his four Safari Balls at the poor thing; sooner or later Cordy would have an absolute rival of a unit down the road…

They weren’t even done yet, because lo and behold—there was something else that joined the fray; and this time it was a—

“Whoa!” he yelped as the Applin fell down in some mockery of this famous guy that had discovered what ‘gravity’ was.

Surely, the Applin had managed to Astonish Jack due to their surprise appearance!

The Absol was all pistons firing, growling and hackles raised as she quickly lashed out with a Night Slash on the Applin, very much intent on cleaving the poor thing into several pieces if they weren’t fast enough to either get out of the way, or get the hell out of range!

“Why are you so mad…?!” he exclaimed as the Applin then Withdrew into the gooey red shell, only… only for them to start using Rollout a few moments afterward; screaming bloody murder like a bowling ball would to a bunch of pins at the end of an alleyway.

And why are all the Pokémon we’re encountering acting like it’s bloody murder?! he thought as the Absol lashed out with a Psycho Cut in an attempt to stop the rampaging Rollout coming from the Applin.

Eventually, the Applin would smack themselves into a tree; while he would quickly throw the third of his four Safari Balls…
