JASON HAUNG'S INFAMY FILE
PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE X PRIVATE KNOWLEDGE
INTRODUCTORY BLURB
KNOCKING ON MIDNIGHT'S DOOR Jason Huang is an Alolan poacher on the run after the criminal syndicate he was born into was sold out to the authorities by his younger brother. Now more or less stranded in Hoenn, he aims to ingratiate himself with Rocket, if for no other reason than his own lack of belief in his ability to acclimate to civilian life. The following information is what can be gleaned from a search of publicly available records, including birth certificates, financial records, social networking services, news reports, and company websites.
PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE
WHAT CAN BE LOOKED UP
- Jason Haung was born July 23rd, 1994
- He's the oldest of two sons born to Bruce Huang and Diana Kuo
- His younger brother is Sean Huang, a 25 year old mechanic currently living in a suburb of Hau'oli City
- Jason lived in Hau'oli City for his entire life until his recent relocation to Hoenn
- Received an associates' degree in Business Administration from a local community college after graduating high school
- Operated a small restaurant called The Jade Dragon, acting as it's manager and head chef from the winter of 2017 until the spring of 2024
- Until recently, it was believed that his father, Bruce Huang, was nothing more than an aspiring real estate mogul, with Jason being primed to take over Huang Land Development upon his retirement
- The recent arrest of Bruce Huang and his associates made local news, and subsequently prompted most of the Huang family to scatter to the winds
LEAGUE KNOWLEDGE
POINTS OF INTEREST FOR THE LEAGUE FACTION
- For those with access to police reports out of Melemele Island or to the documents housed at the local prosecutor's office, circumstantial evidence suggests that Jason Huang played at least some role in the crimes his father was arrested for. However, a lack of physical evidence made pressing charges against him next to impossible.
- Despite Sean Huang's testimony and the evidence he provided against his father and his associates, he refused to name Jason Huang as an accomplice in any capacity (something law enforcement would know, but Jason himself is completely ignorant of, having severed ties with his family completely by that point)
ROCKET KNOWLEDGE
POINTS OF INTEREST FOR TEAM ROCKET FACTION
- Part of a small time criminal family known as the Huang Syndicate; they specialized in Pokemon poaching and trafficking, and had recently begun to expand into extortion and money laundering operations prior to their collapse
PRIVATE KNOWLEDGE
PERSONAL SECRETS
- Jason Huang fled to Hoenn shortly after his father's arrest; both his family and Alolan law enforcement are aware of his departure from Hau'oli City, but are not privy to where he ended up after
- The Huang family primarily favors the use of Dragon-types, seeing them as superior to other Pokemon. This mentality also made some of the mental gymnastics of their criminal enterprise much easier to navigate; any other Pokemon that were poached, trafficked, or generally mistreated were just inferior creatures by comparison
- Jason doesn't exactly enjoy being a criminal, but doesn't think he's a good enough person to do anything better with his life
- Jason also loathed the thought of being thrust into a leadership position, and a small part of him is glad that the Syndicate was dismantled before he had to take the helm of it
- The restaurant he ran was originally intended to be just a facility to house trafficked Pokemon, and was later planned to be an avenue through which some of the family's money laundering operations would take place, but Jason genuinely took pride in his work at the establishment
