During a visit to Mossdeep City, Thomas heard that an ugly situation was taking place. The PokeMart had gotten a shipment of Pokeballs. A wild Voltorb had found itself among the shipment. As the stockers were unloading the package, the Voltorb in question woke up, lashing out at those nearby with a Discharge.

It was up to Thomas and Gwyar to defuse the situation, before the Voltorb potentially blew the store up.

Thomas met Gwyar outside of the Pokemart. "Have the staff been evacuated?", Thomas asked the Gym Leader.

"Yes." Gwyar said simply, hands folded behind his back as he stared into the pokemart.

He wasn't particularly concerned, now that the people had been gotten out of the immediate danger zone.

"Ready?" He asked the younger man, glancing his way.

Though he wasn't worried, it didn't mean he didn't urgency. A voltorb was just as likely to explode out of reflex as it was out of tension— and the more people that gathered outside the shop, and the louder the sirens got, the more tense the lonely voltorb was likely to get.

They needed to get the damp pokemon within its vicinity asap.

"Good.", Thomas replied to the nobleman.

"Yeah.", Thomas said, as he deployed his Paras.

"I just need you to get inside. We'll handle the rest.", he told the Paras, who made her way into the evacuated Pokemart.

The Paras, who had lived her life in peace at Duvet Ranch since her capture, was nervous. She was never much of a battler. But Thomas' assurance that he'd protect her from the Voltorb was good enough for her. So, as she was instructed, she attempted to use the shelves and boxes as concealment, in an attempt to hide her movements from the agitated Voltorb.

"I'll give her a moment to get in position, then I'll take point.", he told Gwyar.

The tense atmosphere between League and Rocket was impossible to miss— and he would not be caught unaware again.

"You don't have to explain yourself to me, sir.", Thomas told his mentor respectfully. When he first asked to take point, Thomas was ready to allow it.

Thomas stepped back, giving the nobleman the space he needed. Thomas followed him into the building.

The Voltorb watched as the two humans stepped into the building. In a moment of rage, the Voltorb attempted to Explode, only to find that they failed to detonate. The Voltorb looked around, clearly perplexed at what played out. In a fury, the Pokeball-like creature began to Discharge wildly.
