the same scene unfolds. one is traded for the other and she finds herself asking if any of it matters. truth? ideals? discovery of what's right ends in violence, just like the rest of it, and a dragon rendered inert.

disappointment is evident on her face when their digital portal opens up to leave. still, she wastes no time. they can't afford it, out there in the real world. so she continues down the steps and out into the waking world.
