THE CHESSBOARD, and by extension, pieces, are all holograms. a closer examination shows that the white pieces are adorn with the faces of several league members. fernando’s are embellished with notorious rockets.

fernando plays with no concern for his game state. he moves quick and precise. anything to steal cian’s pieces. even if he has to trade, and even if that trade is unfavorable for him. sacrificing his best pieces, or even multiple, just to take some pieces off the board, will help prove his point.

“you’re doing pretty well,” he says despite putting very little thought into his move.

it would have been more fitting for the rat to assume the black pieces given his brief history with team rocket but he much prefers being on this side; to call it the right side would feel disingenuous for there is yet much to learn.[break][break]
