to the tub they'll go, but first parker wants to savor every moment of this. she's had some belongings in her life, but never like this. never something that is truly and wholly and absolutely hers. some of the paint is peeling on the wooden railing; the stain is out of date, but it's perfect, because she sees herself out here when the weather's nice, nomi sitting pretty on the railing while parker buffs and sands and paints. 

maisey runs ahead, trailing her leash behind her. she barrels through the front door and parker chuckles, stepping in to the side so she doesn't hit her precious cargo on the way in. 

the floorboards creak a little; the house welcomes them home. 

all their shit is in here. still in boxes. parker agreed to teleportation, but she doesn't trust the unown's sense of feng shui and anyway, she wants to put everything together with nomi. she wants to see her paltry collections (comics, mostly, and old, pressed candy wrappers) next to nomi's. 

but also she wants to see her naked in their tub. she grunts, flexes, and grins doggedly as she carries her up the stairs, promising with cheek and forehead kisses that she's safe. she won't drop her. never, ever. 

until she maneuvers into the bathroom, nudges maisey out despite her pleas, and says, "oh gods, wait, we can finally use those bath bombs."

parker shuts the door behind them. it clicks and so do maisey's nails as she trots away from the door on the other side. parker keeps her hands on the vintage knobs, tucked against her back, and watches nomi dig through some of the boxes and a few bags of toiletries. the lights are warm, honey-like, and the tile is so clean. 

parker slips out of her shoes and her socks. well, one of them. the other gets stuck on because nomi glides over to the tub and leans right over, leaving parker staring. 

"tease," she mutters under her breath, shakes her head, and thumbs out of her sock and then her shirt, leaving both both by door. cool tile underfoot, steam curling up from the tub, a sudden awareness of the beating of her own heart.

her hands go to nomi's backside, knuckles gliding under the pleats, squeezing skin as she settles her hips against her, leans over her, to the side, mercurial eyes hungry and playful. "yeah?" she says, as though she's not allowing her hands to wander to nomi's front.

"gods, babes, you're already so - " she starts, but nomi interrupts, holding the bath bomb up for parker to inspect. to which parker withdraws her playful hand, smile coy, and when she touches the bath bomb's side, she delights in watching it bubble a bit from the moisture. 

"okay, that's kinda hot."

into the tub it goes. she expects a thunk and then, duh, it just bobs right back up, sizzling and scenting the steam with the smells of paradise. her boxers bunch by the hip as she rests her weight against the lip of the tub, teasing the end of nomi's skirt. 

"mmm, yeah? but who? because i'm busy." she hooks the clasp of her own sports bra and teases it off, tossing the garment over by the bathroom door where it joins the growing pile. she wants to take her boxers off and get in the tub and really leave her wanting, but let's be real - parker has a one track mind when it comes to these things. 

so her hands are rough and needy, doing exactly as they're told (with maybe a few detours, namely around the chest and - okay, still on her chest - and then - okay, still on her chest and, it's actually so over, with nomi standing there like that, making those noises and those faces and fuck, please, the water in the tub is going to overflow or get cold or something and parker won't even notice).

it is not a stunning realization for parker. she'd known, before the kiss in the crater, before their first official date, somewhere, sometime, when nomi looked upon her and thought, i want you, and parker knew but didn't know, felt but feared being mistaken, that love is what was waiting beneath time, excavated with minutes and hours and days spent by her side. 

some deep part of her had known she would kill herself for this woman, if it came down to it. 

and she says that, with each wayward kiss, each press of her fingers into nomi's warmth. if there is a god out there like nomi says there is, she does not care for them. they have never loved her as nomi has, and that is why she kneels in worship, wordless prayers made with the shape of her lips, ichor on her tongue. 

and then yowza, that's hot!

nomi fiddles with the bath and parker swoons, heady under her spell, love-drunk eyes darting to foam. she barely feels the burn (FLESH ON FIRE, SKIN DRIPPING, HEAT AND SMOKE, AND AWFUL, TERRIBLE NIGHTMARES) and dark thoughts are shattered with a growl.

water pools over the bath's sides. she grabs for nomi's waist. 

"water's too hot, cupcake. guess you gotta sit on my face."

parker jones knows it's a privilege. parker jones knows she's the luckiest girl in the world. in this world, which is too calloused and too cruel and so very trying, no one is luckier than her because she's got someone worth fighting for. 

one hand solid on the small of her back to hold her, the other splayed dangerously over her midsection, feeling the knotting in her stomach, the twitches that guide her towards nomi's ecstasy. she shudders with a cry of parker's name and water sloshes as her humming rendition of girl worth fighting for is abandoned in lieu of a hungry growl, a greedy stretch of tongue to take all she's earned. 

breathless, a little lightheaded, she relaxes her arms a smidge, letting nomi slip down her chest and into the water. again, more of it pours out the sides of the tub. whatever.

"give me like, five minutes, babes. gotta catch my breath a bit. and, mmm, you're right. these bubbles smell delicious. i almost wanna eat 'em."

"forbidden bubbles," she whispers darkly, almost in awe, as the sweet-smelling foam tickles her skin. bubbles are popping in a constant, sounding fuzzy like static, and it makes her feel like she's under a blanket, warm inside and out. 

nomi's expression changes and parker arches one thick brow. tension is still knotted in her belly; her own hands had been too busy holding nomi safely in place to do anything about her own pleasure - which, to be quite frank, she doesn't give a shit about because hearing nomi cry her name is hotter than any shuddering ecstasy she could give herself.

but then nomi says she's hers and she says it like that and parker's knees knock on either side of the tub, hips tilting to meet nomi's delicate fingers. breathlessness forgotten, parker moans into nomi's mouth. hands that have only ever known how to take, to possess, to break, go to either side of the tub, fingers curling, knuckles white.

one whimper turns into a growl and she flexes her biceps. water sloshes off of her in a rush as she hauls herself up, body slathered in bubbles, but she doesn't care about the mess on the floor; her fingers are knotted in nomi's blue hair, drawing her in, demanding urgently, close as she is, "then have me. take me. eat me."
