Ah, what stood before them was an intriguing choice. Ameena knew Elisabeth from a brief interaction, and she knew Wo-Chien was a formidable harbinger of ruin. Still, Ameena found herself drawn to the Moltres of Galar, her home. It was a little bittersweet, in the way that all homesickness is, but it also just felt right. [break][break]

"Are you OK if we test our skills against the Galarian Moltres?" She had not interacted much with Himeko, but she hoped the woman would be amenable. Not that Ameena hated the idea of fighting Wo-Chien, but she had a curiosity about how the Galarian pokemon would fight and how it would compare to the first discovered Moltres.

Himiko stood beside the good Doctor Ameena. The vain daddy's girl tapped her foot impatiently while waiting on her partner for the mission to make a decision for what kind of enemy they would be up against. Beside her was a Zoroark whose expression matched his owner's apathy towards being present for this kind of training.

"I've only heard of the normal Moltres. There's a Galarian version? How does that even work?"

In truth, Himiko didn't care enough. All that did matter was how painful this was going to be given the expectations of their superiors. Attempting to fight a Legendary Pokemon with only two people was what many Rockets in Kanto would call "spring cleaning". Maybe here, it was expected of them but Himiko wouldn't hold her breath for a chance to even think about success.

Maybe it was one of those stupid "you can't win" type of tests?

"Whatever. Load it up and let's get this over with."

She flicked her nails up to check up them after a quick touch up. Her eyes went to the Gardevior beside Ameena, her eyes entranced by its shiny color.

"You've got a lovely little friend there, haven't you?"

Admin Bee appears pleased with your choice. Galarian Moltres at his side, he steps forward to face you. [break][break]

A sharp whistle from him signals the start of your training. On cue, the Legendary Bird rushes onto the battlefield. Fiery black wings unfurl, glowing with eerie crimson flames that crackle and dance along their edges. Its intense, baleful gaze locks onto your Pokémon, exuding an aura of overwhelmingly sinister power. [break][break]

After taking stock of its opponent, Moltres begins the battle — not with a bombastic assault, but by opening its scarlet beak to release POISON GAS onto the field. [break][break]

Ameena fought the urge to arch a brow at her companion. 'How did that work?' How did any of the deities work? It was a silly thing to be hung up on. She turned fully from her partner and said, "We will contend with you, Admin Bee." [break][break]

Galarian Moltres appeared, generating a toxic gas. Ameena looked between Himiko and her pokemon partner. "No holding back," she said, though it was unclear if it was to Himiko or Gardevoir. Gardevoir mega evolved and used alluring voice on the deity. Ameena stood beside Himiko and whistled, prompting Gardevoir to use imprison around the two of them to protect them from the poison gas. [break][break]

It was up to Gardevoir and Himiko's illusory pokemon to hold their own against the Galarian Moltres. Belatedly, Ameena added, "I collect the variant colorings of pokemon when possible. It might be a silly hobby, but shiny pokemon are a status symbol in Galar. Hard habit to break, I suppose." Perhaps it was vain. But she did like to look at her team in their limited palettes.
