to think someone was unaware as to whom cadis was. he was forcefully brought into this against his will by men who were unaware of his status. it was to be expected, he did have the look of a normal citizen. though, he could use this as time to dust off his battling skills. it'd been quite sometime, he was excited to see if he, and his partner, still had it.

he stood inside of the cage with a light shone down upon him. "cage fighting? how barbaric..." covering his mouth, he'd add, "...yet exciting." he'd never done something like this. he was feeling a bit inspired. heck he was enthusiastic for he began to chuckle to himself. [break][break]

for the time being he'd await for his opponent to reveal themselves. soft, hollow eyes awaiting to see the person that would become the canvas; whereas, his pokemon, the brush.

there was something both exciting yet terrifying about the underground battle. the facility was not entirely known for being pokemon friendly. something delphi was adamant on when it came to the safety of his friends. then again— there was that nerve-wracking itch that longed for these moments. it was the same instinct of sadistic nature that came from the dark. the same blood—lust that called to the dragons. it was a lullaby that called him into a sleep he tried to resist. instead, he answered that song. [break][break]

"hey there! i take it you're my opponent?" delphi called aloud the clamor of onlookers, stepping into the light upon the enclosed platform. "take it easy on me, will you? wouldn't want you to hurt yourself!" it was a slight taunt, perhaps overlooked in the smile that traced his features. an eerie desire for what was bound to come. one smaller form emerged from the shadowy cast of his own figure. an umbreon— oddly shaded— stepped forward.[break][break]

what an energetic boy. youth was an inspiring creature. "you're an intriguing boy." he wanted to know, he needed to ask: what made him tick? the human emotion 'happiness' was a difficult thing to desire. the jovial nature he exhibited made cadis wonder as to what was causing it? the playful taunt given. was the boy that excited to be down here doing something so unreasonable and underwhelming.

illegal fighting was no different than from a random battle on the street. there was truly nothing illegal about it, aside from the mere fact there was a bet being made every second. tittering, cadis, then, decided to entertain both the crowd and his opponent. for this was no different than a contest. "let's entertain the crowd, shall we?" and with that he'd call upon his partner, gallade, onto the field.

a short flamenco dance was given as he stepped onto the stage. "encircle, double team." he'd begin to perform a dance, rotating around the umbreon as multiple copies began to spawn. there were no more than five. had the umbreon chosen to take a physical assault toward the real, it would be met with a swift assault from close combat. if it were to attack a copy with a physical assault? then an aerial ace would strike the dark-type from the back. though, if it chose to make a long range assault, gallade was prepared to use teleport and deliver a close combat unto the umbreon from behind.

boy? he thought, more startled than insulted. perhaps it was the fact he'd been found interesting that brushed away that quick wonder. "after you then!" the grin lessened yet the smile remained. an admirable gallade took to the battlefield. it swayed in a style of dance he couldn't quite place his finger on. suddenly dispersing into a series of shades.[break][break]

umbra glanced left then right, the swarm definitely confusing at first. thankfully for the fox, it was able to steady its nerves and assess the situation. gallade was fast, perhaps even faster than umbreon. still his dear friend wasn't one to let others overrule him in such matters. [break][break]

"lets show them how fast we can go!" delphi said aloud, the exciting feature widened once again. those golden eyes closed only for a moment before the definite frame of the beast disappeared. it was the same unclear static of a presence that swarmed with the gallade. double team against double team. even the crowd struggled to grasp the true image of the clash till it finally unveiled itself.[break][break]

the umbreon was on his opponent like a mad dog. tailing him dangerously close. a purple hue begun to linger from a parted jaw as he'd leap forth to make his advance. undeniably taking the close combat to the gut, yet, not without releasing a shadow ball in the face of the gallade. certain within this range, both parties would enact their violent trade— but— anything was possible.
