No, this puppy in a man’s skin smiles like they’re somewhere far more pleasant, friends talking about something fun.[break] Only when she makes her last point does his own smile fade, quick as her blush. A gentle rise and fall of one shoulder is his body’s answer to the butterfly’s question. His apathy is not for her, but at some complicated notion his mind can hardly articulate. Months from now, he’ll know it as platonic acceptance.
