He was forged for a purpose, and that purpose is to fight. Fangs sink into this thing masquerading as a mighty beast. It takes one who is weak to know weakness when he sees it. His sword caresses his veins. It knows what’s coming next.[break]
There’s something only Inoue Hitoshi can do. If he wants to save jayden cross from the frost-fanged monster that binds his soul, he must grow strong. There is no shortcut on that path, no easy wat to the mountaintop. Strength is a hard won thing, and Rocket’s weakest beast resolves to know the meaning of that word.[break]
Blood seeps from an open vein, lapped by his sword. It hums and hungers, an eager greedy thing coveting its meal. The blade’s edge comes alive with fire.[break]
“Way ahead of ya, Fox.” His eyes meet Okidogi’s, burning with derision. “Sounds like ya hurt some folks I cared about. I’d say it’s nothin’ personal, but that’d be a lie. Get outta here. Go die.”[break]
He puts everything into this swing, save the last drop. The forest comes alive with scorching flames, barreling down upon the poisoned dog and utterly consuming him. A scream stretches across the air and Hitoshi slumps, spent from the attack.

“…the hell?!” A reasonable question, given what the admin decides to do. Lifting a rock that size and throwing it straight at Okidogi isn’t something most men could do. Hitoshi’s eyes scan the other man’s body, wondering where he hides all the muscle. He couldn’t do that, and he begins every day with road work and other exercise.[break]
“Jeez. Yer strong.” What else needs to be said? Shirley’s fangs sink into Okidigi’s poisoned flesh. His toxic chain tries to fight the old girl off to little avail. The rock slams squarely into his face. It turns its green head, yellow eyes glinting at Hitoshi.[break]
Yer strong.[break]
Two words that earn one dog another’s ire. Okidogi charges, even as it tears his body. He rushes straight for Inoue Hitoshi, past Kagutsuchi whose wild charge hardly seems to slow the juggernaut down. One massive hand grabs Hitoshi, raises him up, starts choking the life out of him.[break]
“Ya…ya…make it sound easy…killin’ him…!” Words choked out, his right arm desperately slashing out with his sword. The blade finds little purchase and the dog laughs, sending up a flock of Zubat.

You all step through the rift, leaving normalcy behind. Before you stretches an alien world. The Ultra Crater looks like something out of a samurai movie. Bamboo forests stretch on for miles, though upon closer inspection, the stems seemed to be made from metal. The crater stretches on and on, with several paths leading from your starting location.[break][break]

For many of you, this is your first time in this strange landscape. A pressure builds in your chest, your body knowing, in some way, that it is not meant to step upon this soil. Yet you all have your orders, and so venture on you must. Aurelie Lefevre, Makoto Kurumi, and Alba Evovae all notice a sound that is not ordinarily apparent upon first entering the crater.[break][break]

“I ain’t, uh, really got many hobbies. Lesseeee…” His voice trails off as he palms his chin, deep in thought. “Uh, well, I like to practice swingin’ my sword! Or exercisin’ with the General or my Aniki! It’s always fun to walk Blondie’s Lycanroc in the park! I used to work security in a casino! That was a lotta fun! I’d get free food n’ drinks! All I had to do was kick folks out if they got too rowdy!” Never does he stop to think about how odd most people would find him for thinking about a job like a hobby.[break]
“Back in the day, I used to play pachinko. Nowadays I spend most of my money on Petalburg. No money left for meat or pachinko…” His stomach growls at the mention of meat. It’s been a while since he’s had a meal. There’s nothing to eat down in these tunnels except stashes of MREs.[break]
“You should sing fer me! I bet yer just as good as Melody Miro or that other girl ya mentioned! C’mon!”

Their foe meets every blow. Shirley and Kagutsuchi are creatures of stone, immovable. Okidogi, history’s weakest monster, slams his fists into them. This creature grins the dumb grin of the strong. Strength has made him complacent. Both Pokemon are forced back. Great strength flows into him through the chains, which make him as an enemy of mankind.[break]
“This is one of the guys who hurt my Aniki, huh?” Inoue Hitoshi growls the question, pacing behind his Pokemon. “N’ you. N’ Brownie. N’ Blondie. N’ all the rest…” A growl turns into a snarl. Something deep inside tells him that he must hate this creature, an animal instinct that no human voice can articulate.[break]
Okidogi swings his massive chain like a lasso, beating Kagutsuchi back. The great father cries out, dodging stray bits of venom like his life depends on his fleet feet. As Hitoshi watches the venom corrode tree bark and kill plants, he realizes the Arcanine is on to something.[break]
“Alright, Fox. Tell me how we kill this guy.”[break]
He asks the question calmly, unbothered by Okidogi’s inevitable charge.

IC EXPOSITION

AS THE WAR SPIRALS TOWARDS RUINATION, BOTH SIDES SEEK POWER. In early November, a SPECTRA strike force overseen by Beast Hitoshi Inoue ventures out into the Ultra Crater. Their goal: fight their way through swarms of vicious Kartana and Celesteela. Confront Tapu Bulu, secure the moon flute, and earn the allegiance of Lunala by any means necessary.[break][break]
As Rocket’s finest enter the Ultra Crater, they quickly realize they are not the only ones seeking the allegiance of the moone pokemon…

THIS IS A RAID EVENT where characters post every round, attempting actions and/or responding to prompts or scenarios present within provided MODERATOR POSTS. Oftentimes, characters must make use of the ROLL command, which can determine the success of actions and/or create narrative tension.

i will not tolerate complaints about not being mentioned, tagged, acknowledged or feeling "useless" in a raid. generally, i attempt to mention all characters and their actions in each post, but depending on the number of participants, this may not be feasible.
remember that although i am essentially the DUNGEON MASTER or GAME MASTER of this event, much of this event's enjoyment and storytelling rests upon the players shoulders. collaborate with what i provide in each moderator post and each other for the best result!
lastly, be cognizant of participating players and characters. no one is the "main character" of an event, and allowing space for give-and-take between characters and their actions is highly encouraged.

Some of the grunts watching the battle look puzzled. His Kartana certainly chitter among themselves, speaking their own private conversation. Eventually, they shrug and continue to attack Rex. A few men venture to ask Hitoshi if he’s serious, but most look down, ready to see what Rex will say to that bold declaration.

Yes, this is an honorable battle. It would be the apex of honor, if Inoue Hitoshi did not order five more Kartana forward at once, a storm of swords falling upon Rex.[break]

Annihilape punches the ring of water surrounding Rex and his team to no avail. It rages, flailing, hunting for a target. Its part of this battle will soon be over. There’s something else Inoue Hitoshi needs to do. In his hand is a beast ball. There’s more where that came from.[break][break]
It’s a strange ball, just like he’s a strange man. Out comes the strangest creature in all the world – Kusanagi, who seems as strong as a blade of grass. Kusanagi and his brothers chitter, scream, daring this little psychopath to come at them. A crown of terastallized grass adorns its head, cutting across the ring, a lead blade to finish off the azure mouse.[break]
“Yare yare daze. Yer a menace, kid. Ain’t nobody gonna want anything to do with a psycho fuck like you!” Out flies his kartana, each one more vicious than the rest.

When he hears that someone is giving the grunts trouble beneath a crying sky, he thinks it must be Gwyar Wledig. His sensei is strong, frighteningly strong. Someone like him would knock down a legion of grunts. After giving his word to the others in Rocket’s command staff that he’ll handle the issue, Inoue Hitoshi sets off.[break]
It’s a short walk, a shorter ride. Their lines aren’t very far out. He expects to see one of the League’s best, one of its finest soldiers.[break]
What he sees instead is…[break]
“Oh mother fucker.” A hand presses to his forehead. Soft exasperation tints his words. This kid. This suicidal fool is throwing himself at their lines.[break]
“Alright, kid. One warning. Get the fuck outta here.” The warning, he knows, will be ignored. Inoue Hitoshi holds the simple red/white pokeball. There is nothing special about this ball, nothing to mark its contents as a horror.[break]
Before Rex can even respond to the warning, he throws the ball in a spiraling curve, ending with a raging monster. Its dead eyes behold Rex and his much-lauded Pokemon. It curls its rage fist and levels a punch at man and mon alike.
