Standing beside his Arcanine, looking out at the approaching army, the burden of leadership is placed upon him. Simulated facsimiles of human beings and robots look up to him for guidance. Even now, the army charges. They roar out their command, weapons raised, Pokemon lumbering among their ranks.[break]
“Yeah.” He says to a man who he thinks has no patience for empty chatter. Much of Rocket’s high command is like that. Every breath sees the army approach. Men scream. His own grow restless.[break]
The dog raises his arm. People look to each other, puzzled. No one says a word. They wait for the arm to fall. With it will come the signal to charge.[break]
“Hold.” He says in a strong voice. “Gunners, fall into a firin’ formation. Keep the lane clear fer the Iron Treads. Let ‘em tire themselves out if that’s what they wanna do.” Let them meet their troops at the exhausted end of a pointless charge.

As the Spectrier draws close, the dog does nothing, save whistle. Sharp eyes might notice that the Spectrier's shadow is no longer wholly its own. Something dwells in those shadows, looking up at the steed with a malevolent eye. It approaches, and it thinks that it has won. It opens its maw, it tries to fire some ghastly projectile at time, and it finds its power has been stole by its very shadow.[break]
"It sounds like things get bad fer Rocket here, after the first boss got iced." He speaks with a peculiar combination of earnestness and curiosity, having not arrived in the region until last year. "How'd y'all hold it together?"[break]
Another whistle when the Spectrier charges. It cries out in pain and falls to its knees. Its strong neck has been pierced by an evil, shadowed blade. It feasts like a glutton upon the blood and the meat while its master speaks.
