black boba glide through a bamboo-green straw as noah indulges in the sweet tea. he savours the chewy pearls, collects them almost like a skwovet saving away for winter.[break][break]

across from him, a young volunteer is seated. the two catch the rays of slateport sun in this beachside boba house: a competitor perhaps, to the sodapop stalls slateport is famous for.[break][break]

"good place, right? kyle and i used to come here all the time." he swirls around his drink. "so! what made ya want to volunteer for the water ops?"

Happily sipping on today's chosen treat of watermelon mint fruit tea with popping peach boba, a little ice, medium sugar, she hums contently. Although the experience at Sea Mauville has left some lasting (forgotten, already) memories of the recent past, she hasn't actually expected Noah to follow up on his promise to get her boba.[break]

"It's really a good place! I gotta come here more often," she agrees with the other. Maybe she can even bring her mother with her? Even though she doesn't really like boba that much ... With the Munna resting idly on her lap, Chrysanthe thinks about the question posed - and her memories speak only of a fairytale-like experience. "Hmm ... because it's a lost castle? Did you ever find the evil wizard?"

It probably sounds nothing short of some strange, internet-circulating meme, the way Chrysanthe keeps talking about things, but there is a dead-seriousness to her that quite believes in every words she utters, not so many questions as asked. "Yup, the evil overlord," she, in fact, says, matter-of-factly.[break]

Watching how the bobas disappear from the drink to his cheeks, she tries to do the same not soon after, not looking unlike a Greedent after a while. Surprise is colouring her face - bobas emptying all at once when Noah mentions that the evil wizard is still roaming the place. "Whaaaat? That must be a tricky one indeed ... hmm ... what do heroes usually do with evil wizards?" Maybe they could become friends?

the occasional points of contact simulate perhaps, the macabre drag of a blade against resisting skin though he does not mean it. he is no mime. just a mister.[break][break]

Rather than surprised over the demonstration of a head being slain, a blade being drawn mercilessly against those that have not shown mercy to others, either, she nods solemnly. It reminds her of something one of her professors must have said to her before, or maybe ... something else. A version of a fairytale she is trying to ignore, forget - a version of a fairytale that she knows by heart, and wrote herself. It's all a little mixed up in her mind.[break]

"Hmm ... yeah. A happy ending would be ... nice. Perhaps the evil wizard can help to rebuild the lost castle?" she throws in as a suggestion. Surely, if their magic has been enough to wreck such a place, they would be able to help, too - right? "What would you suggest, Sir Noah?"

Solemnly yet with a serene smile, the young student nods to Noah's remark, "I know right? That would be really cool." Words said with a certain kind of conviction, as if she truly - fully believes it not to be 'only' really cool, but also quite true. In a wonderful world, it would have to be, right? But ... perhaps ... nothing is as simple as reality shapes to be. Nothing would ever just fall into the palms of her hands. Absentmindedly, she is popping a few of the boba she has, feeling a surge of sugary fruitiness every time that happens as she chews on the remainder of the popping boba.[break]

Though delusional it may be in the eyes of some, there is a firm belief that people can and will change for the better - that in a way, they have always been good, but there is a strange sentiment in Noah's words that somehow make it past her elaborate web of fabricated truths. "Mh ... okay! I'll be careful, but you also have to be careful of the evil wizards and their evil henchpeople," she retorts after a moment of contemplation, head tilting before she smiles again, "you and your partner, of course!"

Unaware of what her words might have caused, her own thoughts drift off to the fact that she is beginning to feel a little hungry, wondering whether or not she should get another boba or maybe something like a cake instead ... Her mother is probably disapproving of either, but well, she isn't spending time with her mother right now. Noah would definitely be fine with something like this, right? But before she thinks about voicing such, he speaks up again, making her smile - laugh a little. "I trust you," Chrysanthe remarks in turn, "have you fight a lot of evil wizards before?" Genuine curiosity covers her words, as she misses the dissonant tones in his own.[break]

"Hm ... not really? Do you think I should?" she then wonders out loud. It's not like fighting is really hyped up in her family, or she doesn't think - it's more academics that her older sisters are into, or something along the lines. And then, as her mind flashes back to the start, she blurts out, "do you think we should get cake, too?"
