Somewhere beneath the waves of Hoenn, Team Rocket licks his wounds. A win, a loss, a draw; all-out war has been a mixed bag for the organisation. When the tides begin to surge once more, they must be more decisive in their victory; they have little left to lose, when compared to the League.[break][break]

Alba Evovae lies in a hospital bed, eyes flicking over a floating tablet, wincing every so often. He is, fortunately, not in a position of power, and so he does not need to worry about how they will proceed. His role is to rest and recover as his battered body is taken care of — but his mind is too preoccupied for him to remain completely still.[break][break]

“Fuck me…” It’s a curse directed at all sorts of things. He curses the innumerable aches and pains that ravage his body, the symphony drawn out by the injuries he’d suffered in battle. He curses the inevitable headache of having to explain away what happened to ‘Alba Evovae, ordinary Mossdeep civilian’ during wartime.[break][break]

And finally, he curses his efforts in Mossdeep, and the lack of anything worthwhile that came from all that hassle. No new ground, and no new knowledge to help his research. The dream he chases after is still so far away, only able to be seen in memory.[break][break]

Of course, he really should be dead, after standing his ground against several of the League’s Legendary Pokémon. So perhaps it’s not all that bad.
