That was a question that Makoto has wondered about, themself. Space was a big and wide expanse, after all - and assuming that one of the two Deoxys weren't from some other plane of existence, it'd imply the possibility of more existing out there. More that could come to Hoenn, or otherwise be encountered in Rocket's explorations of space.

The Tera-Deoxys let out an alien shriek as it's struck by the Thunderbolt - the electricity causing its muscles to seize up with paralysis, as it drops to the ground, standing yet staggered and exhausted. It continues to switch between tera typings to adapt - this time to Ground...

... But Erebus anticipates this, its fists growing coated in frost as it begins to strike at the Tera-Deoxys with a few Ice Punches! Even when it takes a retaliatory Tera Blast in response, Erebus maintains its assault - to take advantage before the Tera-Deoxys has a chance to change again.

Makoto knows that the fight is theirs, when they take notice of something - of the sparkling light the Tera-Deoxys gives off, as it begins to break down. "Now!" They called - and Erebus surged forth.

Its tentacles forced their way into the Tera-Deoxys' body - forcibly prying out the even-more-crystalline core, drawing a pained shriek from the phantasm. But even as it tries feebly to push Erebus back, the true Deoxys is able to pull the core out, bit by bit, before it suddenly parts from the faux-flesh, causing the rest of the Tera-Deoxys' body to rapidly break down.

Before the core could join in, Erebus would begin to absorb it, to try and read from it, much as planned...
