Appearance[break]
- Stands at 5'11'' with a slim and slender build - highly androgynous, though masc-leaning otherwise.[break]
- Has straight dark purple hair that is kept down and reaches down to their shoulders - though sometimes wears matching extensions to make it appear longer, in which case they may braid it or tie it in a ponytail.[break]
- Maroon eyes with a sharp and somewhat rectangular shape - though their gaze is often soft and gentle-looking.[break]
- Light fair skin, that is clear of most blemishes. What marks they do have - faint healing scars - are usually kept covered by makeup.[break]
- The clothing they wear can range widely between masculine or feminine - and they are happy to mix and match to fit the mood - though they otherwise tend to wear blacks, purples, and greens, with the occasional pink.[break]
- Accessories often include a pair of round-rimmed glasses with a simple black frame, jewelry (mainly piercings,) and a ribbon that they sometimes wear as a choker - or otherwise to tie up their hair if they have extensions in.[break][break]

Personality[break]
- Initial impressions of Makoto are often of them being friendly and courteous, but closed off. They try to remain kind, and yet are also often wary and perhaps even vaguely suspicious of strangers (especially fellow Rocket members.)[break]
- They are often one to linger at the edge of social gatherings or the bar, almost as if they were hoping for someone to be the one to approach - rather than them having to make the first steps.[break]
- Having spent a good few years on the streets, they have a clever and adaptable mind, and are unafraid to resort to cheating, lying, and theft to get by. If they must, they are willing to even attempt to flirt or seduce to get someone to let their guard down, or resort to violence as a last resort.[break]
- Though Makoto tries to hide it amongst their peers they still have a soft heart deep down. The idea of taking a life is something that, though they refuse to acknowledge it consciously (often lying to even themself about the matter,) would be a step too far for them.[break]
- They have a weak spot for children, and is especially sympathetic to those with a poor home life. Will often try to act as a calm and comforting big sibling figure, if they have to look after any kids.[break]
- Has a powerful sweet tooth, and an interest in cooking. Likes to read fantasy novels, collect cards - particularly tarot cards, as well as relax in quieter spots closer to nature.[break][break]

Background[break]
- Makoto was born in Ecruteak City - in Johto - to a single mother by the name of Nezuko. Born out of wedlock, they never really knew their father, who had disappeared when they were too young to remember.[break]
- The rest of their family greatly disapproved of Nezuko's decision to have had children unmarried, and of Makoto by extension - and as a result, the two were often half-shunned and looked down upon.[break]
- However, Makoto otherwise lived a peaceful and positive childhood; being dearly loved by Nezuko - who attempted to instill a kind heart and teach them everything she knew, all the whilst spoiling them rotten.[break]
- Things were happy and simple for the most part... Though, while Makoto was still relatively young, Nezuko would suddenly fall fatally ill - seemingly out of nowhere - before passing away.[break]
- Left in the care of the rest of their family, Makoto was oftentimes expected to be an unseen and unheard child; rarely ever getting a chance to properly mourn their mother's passing. All the while, they had to put up with whispers of gossip, of greedy claims being put on the belongings that Nezuko had left behind (and likely intended to go to Makoto in the first place.)[break]
- Out of a mix of grief and bitterness towards their family, Makoto would make the decision to simply leave - stealing as many of the belongings that Nezuko left behind as they could, before disappearing into the night alongside her Zoroark, Tsume.[break]
- Once on the streets, Makoto would inevitably be forced to live by less honest means - stealing, cheating, lying - and using whatever tools they had to get by. And over time, through a mix of hitchhiking, stowing away, and simply hoofing it - they'd make their way towards Hoenn, out of a desire to get as far away from their family as they reasonably could.[break]
- From there though, they'd end up having run-ins with the wrong crowd; namely, Rocket. Offered promises of safety in numbers, as well as a family that they felt like they could belong in... Even Makoto if felt reluctant at the idea, they would ultimately decide to join - seeking some form of stability or safety net in their life...
